I had my first-ever pedophile, I mean pedicab, I mean PEDICURE yesterday, and while parts of it were not totally enjoyable, overall it was very nice and my feet have never felt better or looked better. (NO, I DIDN'T GET ANY TOENAIL POLISH!)
At first, I was the only guy in the place, but then a married couple came in and plopped down next to me, so I didn't feel too strange about it all. Read a magazine and bubbled away, got the nails clipped and buffed, skin and calluses sanded down, then a massage and hot towels wrapped it all up -- charge $27, plus a tip. Not bad, considering I was in the chair over half an hour. (Chair had heat and massage options, too.)
I may do it again in a couple months. Anyone here get them regularly?

I'm betting they'd charge me double. Or just cut to the chase and throw me out.

I just sit in the hot tub until they get nice and soft, rip 'em off and flick 'em in to the yard. Doesn't cost a dime.

Yeah, I don't think they'd welcome my feet in there. They do fine with my right hand (I get my picking nails done every few weeks), but feets is another kettle of fish.

I don't know. Not sure I want somebody messing with my feet. My feet are not the best part of me. I would hate to leave the session with a foot-remorse or toe envy.

I"ve had a pedicure a few times. I got one about 10 yrs ago and it was only $20 so you got cheated $7 or you have uglier feet. My big problem with a pedicure is they don't trim the nails aggressive enough.

I've been to spa places for massages and pampering of various kinds, including pedicures when in hot and bothersome places abroad. Nice way to relax and refresh yerself and cheap too if your in Saigon, Jakarta or some such place.

Mary and me soak our feet twice a week. We have a battery foot buffer. We done this for years.

I've never had a pedicure. Haley used to like to clip my toenails when she was younger. It worked out well for the most part. I'd lay on the sofa and watch TV while she'd clip and file my toenails. There were a couple times when she'd cut too close and blood started running, but it was all at her end of the sofa and she was in charge of cleaning up all the blood, so I just happily kept watching TV.

I dropped Kim off one day for a manicure in Waterloo, then went back to the car to take a nap and wait it out. But, when I was in there, there were several men getting pedicures. So there you go.

My acrylic fingernails came off yesterday so I went to have them replaced today and they were closed. They're usually open on Monday. THeir sign says they're open on Monday but the place was dark and locked up. There's still stuff in the shop so I hope they're not gone for good but I'll check back tomorrow. I didn't hear about an ICE raid or anything.

I had my foot bashed on a couple of weeks ago. Had a bone spur removed. Mine are not happy feet, yet. But I am allowed to soak them in the bathtub now. For a couple of weeks I had to hang a foot over the side.
I use Neosporin and upgraded to nice Band Aids. That's as pedigree as I get.

Interesting way to pamper yourself Bill. I might have to try that. I had thought that the ultimate in relaxation and feel good experience would be a professional back massage, but the one I had was not close to a few free ones I had in my pre-marriage days. And a massage is a much more expensive bit indulgence.

Did you have the kind where they stick your feet in a fish tank and pirañas nibble the crud off? I could do that at the lake and fish at the same time. Just hang my dogs over the side of the boat, you know?

The ultimate in affordable luxury is a hot towel shave from a good barber.
You could get a shave in the base Barber Shop at New River in 1970 for 25 cents, in the late 70s you could get one at the Barber College in Orlando for a dollar. I'm guessing in the $5-10 range now.
