Elderdottir would like to see if she can re-direct her long dormant fiddling skills onto a mandolin, but needs an instrument.
She'd like to keep the cost under $200 -- so if anyone here has one they would like to sell for that kind of money and it's not too tough to play and sounds OK, let me know.

Bill, I might. I have a serviceable Kentucky A-model that one of my kids got for a birthday, and he never ever touches it. He forgot he owned it. Let me check with him, and I'll let you know.

Don't let the fact that LJ came from Kentucky scare you away from Shannon's mandolin.

You have a daughter that wants to play mandolin? What did you do right that I didn't?

Don't let the fact that LJ came from Kentucky scare you away from Shannon's mandolin. What is wrong with going out back by the outhouse to find a pine log and just whittling a mandolin while you sit rocking on the front porch? Everybody wants ready made today.

And the wood from the outhouse is seasoned. You don't get that in store bought.

I have that Kentucky at the Podium, I will check with Jim on its status Monday. If I can take it the repairs will take a few days.

Never mind, Marty, Shannon has already offered me a deal too good to pass up -- his son gets a little mad money and he ships me a shiny Kentucky KM-140S that needs nothing more than strings and a setup and has a hardshell case. Think it would be OK to have it shipped to Podium in care of you? I am wary of having it shipped to my home and I don't think it would be a simple matter in our new work digs to have it shipped there.

I have a dinky Regal that plays fine. Got it from a Stupid Deal of the day at MF. Would move it along to anyone who will pay the shipping. I imagine $10-15. I also have what is probably a 30's Kalamazoo student that works great and is kept around for the funk factor. It ain't going' anywhere.

I have several people looking for mandolins, our own Cyndy for one. So I'll be happy to take it off your hands.
