Those old Macks with the bulldog on the hood were the coolest truck on the road. I didn't know they were still a player. Never see any new ones around here. Well they're Swedish now. Probably should take another look.

We used to camp a little north of Peoria just about every weekend. That general area is about as scenic as Illinois gets. That's what scares me.

I see lots of Volvos. So, they bought Mack. Never used to see any Volvo trucks. Now they are all over the place.
You ever worked for Peterbilt? That's prolly where you will end up. Karma.

Pretty sad when the first thing that occurs to me that starts with an M and ends with a k is "Matlock." Don't know why he would be banned in Illinois, though.

So, a metamorphosis then? If that's what they're calling a major pain in the ass these days. For a guy who is still gainfully employed, you seem kind of grouchy about it. Mike

I've done a fair amount of industry consortium work (alternative fuels, etc.) that has taken me to the Cummins facilities in Columbus. You're right, nice town.

Does this mean that Navistar/International are going out of business? Were they ONLY making trucks for CAT? No. They were making the CAT trucks under contract as a joint venture. This is simply a corporate divorce.

You know from there You could make IJ I highly encourage you to sort out the schedule such that you will be able to attend Idiot Jam. That thought has occured to me but we're already booked at one of our favorite wineries that weekend. So IJ loses out to drunk, stupid, potentially naked, and not worrying about bail money.

That looks like a very interesting job, Peter. You must have some insight to be involved in something like that.
