Well, I'll give Rick a kudo of sorts. I thought similarly, the guitar work was nice but probably the weakest part. Not detrimentally so. But noticeably though.
We have such jaded perceptions of music. Any time you turn on the TV or Radio, you hear stellar performances; mostly behind commercials for beer or cars or Action/Adventure movies. But it's ever present. So much so that we forget what level of mastery it takes to create all that. And then we expect every ensemble of dedicated people we hear to match up to that Super Bowl quality.
Everybody's a critic. Myself included.

Maybe, but Rick also believes that a carbon fiber guitar is a good thing. You have to always keep that in mind when Rick opines on an issue of taste.

Love em'. I am a minimalist. I would guess they do one or two hot numbers each show just to show they can.

I remember fondly the discussion we had of the bell curve and being satisfied to be average. The top of the bell curve is very narrow, and I find myself sliding down the far side of it. Daisy (Rani) sits comfortably near the peak.

You sir, have fallen into the somewhat mendacious, foolish, indeed a tad skanky side of guitar playing, incapable of comprehending the great perfection. Sigh.

It takes total amazingness to keep my admittedly tiny attention span focussed.
