Well. Scratch scratch...lemme see. Now I'll be getting holiday pay from my regular job, of course. Usually on the 'national' holidays only. And then my 2nd job which is usually only the 'church runs' asked me if I would drive the old folks into the Bronx to see the Yankees game. So I said yes. Hopefully that won't entail the same folks now.... that's usually 3 or 4 walkers, two wheelchairs and an array of canes, that's the mass goin' crowd. So anyway, I'll get paid for that. And then, of course, I'll want to be doing the usual border collie action, so I'll definitely see the game. Yankees vrs Orioles. And it's gonna add up to a lot of hours, cause the whole ride in includes plenty of luxurious 'pit stops and potty break times.' Which means we're leaving 3 hrs before the game. Won;t be able to have any beers, mind you. I'll have to make do with lemonade. I may get bored, but I got these tiny little missal editions of Dante with English on one side and the original Italian on the other, So I think I'll bone up on my Dante during the lulls in the game.
So never you worry, my darlin' lambchops. The laborious shall be laboring mightily this lovely Labor Day. I'll be in the 17th circle to the left.
just...scratch scratch.. sayin.'

Good Morning Good People
Still muggy, maybe thunderstormy. Headed to brother/sister-in-laws cottage for a mega-breakfast followed by watching a herd of little kids run around in circles. I have quite lost count of how many grandnieces and grandnephews we have.
Weather forecast for eastern Iowa for September 10 thru 14 looks great.
As a member of the United Auto Workers (honorable withdrawal status), may I wish each one of you a fine Labor Day. Solidarity Forever!

There is little better than a paid day off. Put together with my usual four day weekends, that's an awesome five day weekend. I want to thank the unions for making working for the man more tolerable. And the grandkids for keeping me moving as we walked up and down Mt. Kearsarge yesterday. Labor day has not been Laborious.

Good morning from a satisfied Minnesota union laborer who has the day off, paid. In fact, I have a two-day workweek this week, as I am off Thu-Fri for IJam logistics and travel.
Weather here has finally broken into reasonable humidity and pleasant temps. After breakfast with Babzi at the Original Pancake House, it's off to Trader Joe's and Target and to the lawnmower.

Phtt. I have every day off. How is today different? Except, there is no mail--the high point of every retired person's day! Anyway, we are getting things put away and starting to make the new place look more like a home and less like a drop off spot for huge, filled boxes. Enjoy the holiday and think of the fact there will be two days worth of mail tomorrow. Wow!

Today makes one week at the hospital. It feels like a labor. On the other hand the love and support shown has been simply marvelous. I'm happy-sad-grateful-anxious-peaceful

Morning all Cooler and much less humid today, the last day of the State Fair will be a nice one. Tuesday I'll start getting ready for IJ. I got two of the three quick money jobs done yesterday and started the third one. This last one is a refret on a old Kay Speed Demon. I got the neck sanded and prepped last night, today all I have to do is put the frets in, level and dress them, and then set the guitar up. The one I have is no where near as nice a condition as the photo.

Dennis, I can relate - today is the day of long lines of cars heading south. Bumper to bumper ferry traffic heading back to the Big Smoke (Toronto). The coming month is still summer here and the locals get to enjoy the landscape again without being elbow to elbow with thousands of people. We have the loan of a cottage up the peninsula this fall - and I am looking forward to a weekend or two up there despite the ongoing election campaign.
I'm struggling with my computer again. Bloody graphics drivers. Bloody Windows 10. Bloody hell altogether.
Evan, thinking about Nancy and you and your family. Thinking about Don.
