Today is the first day a new season of Harry Bosch episodes in available to Amazon Prime members.
If you are not familiar with Harry, he's the creation of writer Michael Connelly. Connelly is one of my favorite writers and his series of books featuring LAPD's Dectective Harry Bosch are some of the best of the cop fiction genre.
Last year's series, which was produced by Amazon, was some of the best television I've seen in quite a long time. The cast is terrific, the script is well-written and stayed very true to Connelly's book, and the cinematography is beautiful. I eagerly watched the first episode of season 2 tonight and was happy to see that the attention to quality that marked last year's episodes is alive and well.
If this kind of thing is your cup of tea, I think you'll enjoy it. If you aren't familiar with Bosch I would recommend watching season 1 first. You might find yourself binge watching as I did.

I like the books. I watched part of season one because of the books. I thought the show was okay and I’ll probably get caught up on it one of these days, but the books were better, IMO.

Haven't read the books but I enjoyed season 1 on Amazon last year. I'll be streaming season 2.

Wow. I'm a huge Connelly fan (the Haller books might be even better than the already fantastic Bosch books. Connelly is the only author I can think of who consistently gets better and better) but I was unaware of this series (I'm not much up on television. I don't have cable or netflix).
It looks like they hit it out of the park with the casting of Bosch. I could never really get a good picture of him in my head. On the other hand....the music isn't Bosch. Not even close.

The HB series was why I signed up for Amazon Prime.

The music in the trailer is the theme music for the show. There are lots of scenes in Bosch's home that feature Bosch's favorites. I like the Haller books too. In fact I've liked every Connelly book I've read regardless of who the main character was. He's an outstanding writer. However, like his peers, he's not as prolific as I would prefer. Seriously, is it too much to ask that these guys churn out books at a rate that is at least close to equal to the rate at which I read them?

The prolific ones manage a team of writers.

I hadn't heard about the series, but I'm a big Connelly fan, too. I might have to check out Amazon Prime.

I have only read one of the books and I would now like to read them all. I am not sure how many there are in the series but I would love to start with #1 and work my way through them.

I just finished episode 10 of season one. I was further along than I thought. But some of the scenes looked familiar. It took a while to realize I already watched it last year. So I’m ready for season two now. All I have to do is figure out when I’m going to fit it in. I only watch an hour or so of TV per day. I have a growing backlog.

So it's a show based on a book that you go to a book sellin' place to watch on TV? Man I liked it better when the rabbit ears and tinfoil were on the TV instead of Doug.
