Someone (Bruce?) wanted to hear some sound clips from the latest archtop with a solid top made from Sitka spruce from the Bellanca aircraft factory. Body is solid Mahogany. It is X braced and sounds warm acoustically. It has a 15" lower bout, 25" scale, Kent Armstrong hand wound floating humbucker with 500K pots on the pickguard and a 0.047 tone cap. The small size makes it very comfortable to play. Recorded through a VSA 15W tube amp mic'ed with an SM57 straight into Pro Tools with no effects. I think the recording sounds pretty accurate. I did one short chord melody piece and another short song to get the single string sound. I recorded the changes and overdubed the solo. I really like the pickup. soundcloud.com/terken-1/bellanca-shadowsoundcloud.com/terken-1/bellanca-miss-jones

Sounds sweet like an archtop should. Good work, Terry.

Too bad it doesn't have a 0.050 tone cap, or I'd probably be tempted to buy it. Nice.

Sounds wonderful even through my tablet. I'll pull it up on the big machine and listen through my studio speakers. Lovely guitar, Terry!

Now, that's how an archtop is supposed to sound. Lovely.

Thanks all. I hate to let this one go. I'll definitely build another 15", it's a wonderful geezer size. Thanks to Marty for the suggestions on wiring techniques, pot and cap size etc.
Marty I used your little box to see what the warm cap would sound like and this guitar didn't need it. Maybe the Mahogany warmed it up enough.
