“Muppets Studio said in a statement to Time magazine that it ‘thanks Steve for his tremendous contributions to Kermit the Frog and the Muppets franchise. We wish him well in his future endeavors.’”
Those corporate dogfuckers. They all say the same thing.

Agreed. And I bet they didn't even tell him in a Muppet voice.

Agreed. And I bet they didn't even tell him in a Muppet voice. No. It was in a written statement.

What a pointless exercise. Just trying to save money, probably.

We never learn, from the WaPo piece, what the “issues” were. They may have been real and they may have been crap that company policy allowed them to use as an excuse. I think Disney has a reputation as an undesirable employer. Not being one to follow such things, I was unaware that Disney now owned the Muppets and Henson's legacy.

It could be that be that Disney are evil bastards here, but we can't really know that without knowing the two issues that lead to Whitmire getting fired.

Where would they EVER find another person who could do a Kermit voice?
I wonder if Whitmire noticed that his name is a condensation of "Walt Longmire"?

Ah, I see that my avatar has dropped off. Those evil corporate bastards at Photobucket now want to be paid for the service they provide.
Edit: Switched from Photobucket to Imgur.

Jeez, with all going on in the world, you guys are worried about who voices Kermit the Toad and whether you will ever hear him sing and play the toad banjo again? Give me a break. I would have eaten his legs and put him out the door on a push cart a long time ago. Don't even get me started on that Miss Baconchopsribsroastsausage he hangs around with.

I'm too upset to speak. It feels like I have a frog in my throat.

The original voice of Kermit was Jim Henson, the creator of the whole shabang.
Seems odd that the company would become so corporate.
