Thanks, Bruce. I saw the NYT article on fb. I pestered my wife about it. She says it's about an hour and a half away from where we're staying. And her sister and brother-in-law are cheap and don't like to eat out much. We're traveling with them. Personally I'd be there in a minute.
I'll raise the issue again.

I'm an hour and 40 minutes inland from Portsmouth, I have a daughter who makes killer curry and brownies. Just sayin'.

I prefer Arcadia, Wisconsin. You get that extra letter in the city's name for no extra charge, it's a lot closer than freaking Maine for Midwesterners, it's in the drop-dead-gorgeous Driftless Area, it's the home of (sadly, the late) Ernie Reck and His Country Playboys polka band, and it has the annual Broiler Festival, a celebration of dead chickens, complete with parade and multiple "princesses" who all have biceps and triceps that reflect lots of hay-bale-hefting.
I doubt that Maine can top that.
