As I am heading out the door to the Pemi Bluegrass Fest, I grumbled to Maureen, 'Do I really want to do this? There is a banjo in every single band there.' Her reply was 'So what is the natural predator for the banjo?'

Morning
65F/18C Rain.
Still haven't got that new dishwasher installed, maybe today if I can get a grandson over to help me slide it in place. I can do it myself, but I will have a whole crowd of folks yelling at me if I do and DaWife will be right in front. Me Darling Wife and I cooked together last night, we made Kitchen Sink Salad. She cooked chicken chunks and elbow pasta while I cut up fruit, veggies and cheese. Throw whatever you got into a big bowl and mix it up with mayo, a little mustard and spices.
37 Days to IJ.

Daughter, son-in-law, and grand-daughter left this morning. Had been here since Saturday. The dog is comfy again, being the only little thing around, and the only little thing that gets attention paid to, held, and so on.

Good morning. Left early for golf with some friends. I quit after 9, a miserable 9, because at 85F and humid I was beat. They continued on. I'm in the A/C now and they're probably on about the 13th. I win.
The open mic went OK last night. I got some good comments although I wasn't all that impressed with my guitar playing. After I play, I run on adrenaline for a couple of hours and can't sleep which probably didn't help my golf game.
Happy Thursday.

Another beautiful cool overnight and warm, but not hot or humid, day here in Waynesville. By the time I reach Swannanoa at 3 this aft, the temp will have peaked there around 81, they say, at least 10 degrees below normal, should be perfect to sit outside with the boys and jam and jaw a while. Yesterday was perfect all around -- got reunited with the Nugget after Yungerdottir ferried her over from Transylvania County, and we did all kinds of fun outdoor stuff and ate amazing fried chicken at a place just down the road from Elderdottir's that is insanely affordable. I'll be back. Then it was time for them to head home and not long after that Elderdottir got home from work, followed shortly thereafter by her hubby and we killed some brain cells for a while before eventually heading downtown for foodie stuff, but not in an ostentatious joint, by any means. We ate in the quiet, comfy bar of Frog's Leap, where I had the two best lamb chops of my long life, some elegant jazzed-up couscous, a killer Caprese salad with local heirloom tomatoes, and then the three of us split a creme brulee for dessert. Outstanding. After tonight, my next three nights will be in Brevard, with day visits to Yungerdottir's place, 10 mins distant. We're planning a big Sunday dinner at this place with both dottirs and their mates, plus Grand-Nugget, her grandmother and my husband-in-law. I get to pay for it! I had a wild scheme to get through the mountains Monday morning via the Cherohala Skyway, 43 miles of twisties and 4,000 feet of elevation change, but the weather forecast does not bode well. Too bad -- that route would have steered me to Nashville and I cudda caught the Time Bandits. But, no, I will take I-40 to Knoxville, Lexington, etc., prolly overnight somewhere near Frankfort, Ky. Nite two should be someplace in Hoosierland, anyone home?

Sounds like a delicious trip Bill.
We met our 105 degree prediction here yesterday and are likely going to see 107 today. I am not accustomed to this stuff.
Some light office work planned for the day but I just never know what might happen. Part of the fun I guess.
