Big storm shot through last night with gale force winds and sideways rain. It ushered in a change since right now it is 57 degrees. It feels like October. Have a safe and dry day.

Spent time outside our front door, an open porch-like area, with an orbital sander. Getting the wood ready for paint, probably a couple coats, if not three.
Gave it a good whack, and then after showering, visited the local version of Lowe's for some doodads to get into some places I couldn't get into with the sander. While gone, the dog chewed up into bits several sections of #80 sandpaper that I'd cut for the sander...
Ordinarily, we give her these fragrant chewy things to clean her teeth...
I'll try to finish the prep tomorrow, hose it off, and maybe start paint on Sunday.

Morning 75F/24C Mostly sunny, waiting for the return of Summer. Finally got the new dishwasher in and running yesterday, plus all the blanks cut for string winders. The blanks must all be exactly the same size so they all fit the location jig for each hole that needs to be drilled. 6 holes per winder, several of these are for creating the shape or taking out waste wood to make final shaping easier later. This is a stop point for work on winders, got repairs to do. Going out to breakfast before I start work today. 36 Days to IJ.

Good morning. We're in a temporary return to Summer pattern but it's not as hot as a couple of weeks ago.
We've successfully put off grocery shopping for 3 days now but we'll have to do it today. I'll probably start mowing too but the pool should be refreshing this afternoon.
Happy Friday.

T Bob is a magnet for our Dogz. Little Bindi and Scruffy Huck are all over him.
Today will be the walking and driving tours of the neighborhood and the fair city of Trump voting oilmen, farmers, evangelicals, Southern Baptists, Catholics,Methodists, Seventh Day Adventusts, Jehovah Wtnesses, Mormons, Latinos, big trucks, red light runners, stop sign coasters, homeless, dumpster divers, tweakers, and the usual cross eyed caboose jumpers.

Plumber coming this morning Good luck with that Doug. Cooling down to 97 here in western Oregon today. I hope to leave work early and get the dogs out for some exercise this afternoon. It has been too damn hot the last couple days to do it. Tomorrow we have a little hootenanny at the neighbors' (Mark and Tammy') place. Should be fun, and Tammy always makes an excellent dessert dish.

Good luck with that Doug. He fixed the problem and it cost me $85. You mean he walked in, took out a wrench, tightened a loose fitting, handed you a bill and walked out.

Could not find the valve for the irrigation that was put in years ago. Dug up the line to the irrigation. Capped the bubblers. We've used 2 different plumbers since we've been here. One charged us $430 to replace the shutoff for a toilet, and this one who only charged us $180 to replace two lines to the 1/2 bath. And today guess which one we called. Getting ready to have the whole place replumbed. One quote $7000 one quote $2000 to have all modern plumbing. We have found the right plumber for Kingman.
