Somewhere in this country some ijit is going to drive wearing those stupid glasses. If your glasses are correct, you have zero visibility with the glasses on. A person will not even be able to see the car let alone drive it.

I guess that would be pretty silly. Someone that dumb might as well wear sunglasses at night and we all know there is no one stupid enough to do that.

I'm buying my glasses tomorrow. They'll be deeply discounted. No way I'm paying full retail.

Put a pair of the glasses on, go outside without looking at the sun and then tell me what you see. I will wait. I would not attempt to drive that way unless totally drunk.

Zombies. I want zombies dammit! There were 3 zombies here but since the eclipse was only 87%, they did not do much damage.

Google "Driving with eclipse glasses" and read all the warnings issued.... I'll wait. Seems I'm not the only one that thinks people are stupid enough to attempt it. Not that those potential Darwin Award winners would pay attention to a PSA.

Well, since I have the glasses and am well aware that one has zero visibility with them unless looking at the sun, if someone truly believes one could even see the car with them on, let alone attempt to drive it, more power to 'em.
And I really don't doubt you that warnings have been issued. Who knows? I know blind people have been arrested for trying to drive, so anything is possible.
( I changed "you" to "someone" above because that is what I meant by it. It was not meant to be you personally and it sounded like it was. )

And you're still wearing them because you think you look great wearing them, right? ...but you haven't actually been able to see yourself wearing them, right?

I do have them on and I thought it was nighttime in a coal mine. Imagine my surprise to find it is daytime.

Maybe people aren't as dumb as I thought.......... nah that's not it... they just didn't get caught.

People are dumb enough. I was in a parking lot in Hiawatha today, several people were there. I spoke with two ladies, one about 50 and the other about 70. They had driven down from north Iowa to get a better view, although we weren't 100% either.
And it was cloudy. Thin enough clouds that you could see the sun shining rather brightly through the clouds, but cloudy enough to render the glasses useless. I tried them on and all I saw was black.
But they were sitting back in their lawn chairs staring at the sun anyway. I asked if those were special glasses as well but no, jut regular sunglasses. I said they really shouldn't be doing that, but they just smiled and kept on staring. I said again you REALLY shouldn't be doing that but they just smiled and kept on staring. I gave up. I'm sure they made it home, it'll be tomorrow when they start to notice problems.

One guy did tell me that he didn't have glasses but he was going to squint so it would be ok. I told him, no, squinting would not be adequate. People who think, "Oh, it will be ok," often find out the hard way it won't be.
