I'm awake but that's about all. 14F outside and windy.
Still snowed in but I have a guy coming this afternoon to plow the driveway. It's heavy snow and 3 foot drifts. What shoveling I tried to do told me I'm too old for this shit. Saw on Facebook a woman thanking my tree guy for clearing her driveway and the neighbors. So I sent him a message asking if he could do mine and he said he could probably get here this afternoon. I have no idea what a fair price would be but he's been fair in the past with the tree trimming. I still don't know if the roads have been plowed around here but there isn't any traffic going by. With our colds we're running out of Kleenex so I have to get out today or tomorrow. I think there's some in the car but there's a big drift by the garage doors. Still have power, food and Scotch so things could be worse. 73 1/2 days 'til Spring.

Life's great. We're eating great (a little too much ??), and I've got a line on being a temp B&B manager for a couple months next summer in a nice place. Might travel a little between then and now, if it looks like it's going to work out.

Good Morning Good People
Cold, but not as cold as Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. Predicted to be in the 40s and raining by next Wednesday.
Came home last night feeling chilled and dragging. In bed listening to music shortly after 9:00 PM, slept until 8:00 AM, feeling better but not ambitious. Return to painting the basement. Only 100 square feet of wall and 100 square feet of floor remaining; the most difficult part is moving all the stuff covering the wall and floor.
Have a fine Twelfth Night one and all.

Babzi and I heard maybe our best concert ever last night at the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra -- all-Mozart with piano soloist Jeremy Denk, who was phenomenal.

Have TP but it's a limited supply and although I can use handkerchiefs for my nose I don't want to take a chance of running out of TP.

If you’ve got what people around here have been having, Tamarack, the good news is that it doesn’t last long.
One more day of deep, freeze, then it’s supposed to be 31 tomorrow.

Those are the loveliest looking instruments on the planet. The bursts are beautiful. The body shapes are stellar. What kind of strings is Bucky playing with? A 7 string guitar. 4 of them are black looking like those Kala uke bass strings. Somehow an archtop is just clutsie in my hands. I've had them and sold them. My quirkie style doesn't work on them. But they sure are lovely.

Good morning!!
Feeling hopeful that today marks the last day of the current cold snap. Significant Other just headed out for an hour run!!😳. I don’t think we are on the positive side of zero yet. Crazy!! 😁
Speaking of crazy, I just saw a video of a new exercise done with ceiling mounted bungee cords! Looks like a blast and there is a studio right in my community so may check that out this week!! I am feeling the need for some way to get out from under the blanket on the sofa!!
Dinner with friends tonight. May get tix to the touring musical, Waitress, for tomorrow.
But now I am off to play Nurse Nightingale and help my Mom with the dressing change on her incision. We did the first one yesterday and it went ok. At 87 she is remarkably resilient!
Stay warm, friends! ❤️

One temptation I've had (and there's no photo available), Jim Shenk made himself a 14" archtop. Very small and relatively light. It was fun to play around with and very unpretentious. It would be tempting to custom order something like that to mess around with amped and pedaled.
