Happy Thursday, all. No rain in Desertlandia. I have a regular volunteer gig this morning and then assorted chores in the afternoon. It's always good to have another day.

Got a couple of inches of snow but it's light powder not the heavy wet stuff we got last week. I shoveed a path out to Mary's quilt studio so I could put some seed in the bird feeder and it was easy shovelling. We're supposed to get above freezing later so maybe it will melt off.
Happy Thursday.

Gorgeous day here. Wife is still totally messed up,from shingles pain in her leg. 8 weeks in. Nasty disease, a few fair days and you think it’s finally getting better and then it comes back with a vengeance. Get the vaccine! Finally starting a new build. First since The Podium closed. Double side OM. Bird’s Eye Maple outer Rosewood inner. Feels good to be building again. Bending sides today. Have a couple more planned.

Terry, is that done for the same reason many classical builders do it...stiff sides keep resonance in the top? Love maple, that warm sound...untoasted wheat underpinnings.

Being forced to drink beer in the early afternoon. It's what's left in the can after making the marinade for tonight's swordfish on the grill. The fish will be covered with the salsa fresca that I also just made and some guacamole that came from Costco. That and some whole wheat flour tortillas will be the meal.
Gonna work on one or more of my current six songwriting efforts while Mr. H is off to the audiologist who messed up his hearing aids while checking them this morning. Then he goes to the dentist. We'll have just enough time before sunset to get our walk done. We couldn't face doing that this morning when it was 28F. Busy day for Mr.H. Laid back for me.

If you were to laminate the EIR on the outside instead, how would the sound be altered. I’m assuming the strength of the sandwich is the same either way.

I don’t think it would make much difference Mark. I built one like this a couple of years ago and it sounded good. The idea was to take a little edge off the Maple. I have no idea if it actually did that but it sounded really nice.
