Finished up a week on the bike trainer (30 minutes at a whack), some nice days now, even the piles of snow are almost gone.
Might go to 40 for the coming week.

Still have snow on the ground.
This PC upgraded after 13 hours and seems to be OK. Mary's is still downloading the update. Last time it tried it failed after 18 hours. We'll see. I hate Microsoft maybe more than I hate Democrats. OH, wait, Microsoft is a bunch of Democrats. Now I understand.
Happy Saturday. Don't die, OK?

Trying to wake up now. Yoga later, and then guitar practice later still.

I should be heading over to LJ's for another day of playing guitar. Instead, I'll go walk Breeze and then work.

That sounds like you're on dial-up. Maybe you should hate your ISP/connection? My ISP didn't force me to download an 8 gig update, twice. You can do the math--13hrs to get 8GB seems like dialup. And that's via wifi, to my laptop here.

Good Morning Good People
A little bit sunny and a little bit melty.
Working at the office most of the day, then working in the basement. I am reconstructing my woodshop after remodeling/repainting. If I was a real woodworker and had money my stationary power tools would be on lifts and rollers and I could move them around easily. Instead, the table saw, band saw, and jointer just get dragged around.
Having a difficult time getting away from work and other life responsibilities for any kind of recreation or down time. I have 30+ hours of unused vacation time to burn before mid-February (after an allowed carry-over of 40 hours). I was talking with our CFO/HR person earlier this week and she suggested I negotiate with our 28-year-old vice president to be allowed to carry over additional time. On Thursday I left work early for a banjo-related trip to Elderly Instruments. I was stepping out the door when my daughter called with yet another flat tire and a granddaughter stranded at the school bus stop. Maybe next week, maybe not. (If you can't complain to SoundHooligans, who can you complain to?)
Thanks to all who have posted Doug photos and Doug stories. I was thinking about Doug whilst working around the house last night, alternately tearing up and laughing.
Have a fine Saturday one and all.

They have a couple of Ukes I'd like to check out. The First is a Kamaka tenor delux, HF3D, listing for about 2500. The second is a Martin Brother IZ commemorative model tenor, listing for about 1700. If you could compare and contrast the two, to ally and playability wise, I'd appreciate it. Mike

Good morning. We've had very few fronts come through this fall and winter but one's slowly rolling in now. We may get a small amount of rain. Our main public library remains closed from water damage that occurred about seven months ago, so Diane and I will go to the temporary substitute. Enjoy your day.

We found out yesterday that our littlest chihuahua, Minette, Min or Stinkerbelle has serious health issues. Born extremely tiny, she almost did not survive her first night and she's always been our special needs girl. She has a collapsing trachea and there's not much they can do about it. I fear she won't be with us much longer. We have some medication to relax her and help her breathe but all we can do is love her while she's here. She's on my lap right now just as happy as a clam.

Awwww. 🙁. So sorry, Tom.
I missed seeing Doug’s greeting here this morning 😢. I have been showing my S.O. the pictures of Doug that were posted on his thread (and some of you who were in the photos). Try to explain/describe Doug to someone outside the forum!!! Not easy to do. Words fail!
It is shaping up to be a pleasant day here (read: the air doesn’t hurt my face) so we are heading out to make the 3 mile round trip walk to Starbucks and back. I am not a fan of their coffee but it is fun to have a midpoint destination! ☕️
Hosting some friends for dinner tonight and plan to throw some steaks on the grill! But first a stop at the new place to check on construction progress and then on to a furniture store. If the restaurant near the store is not jam packed, that is a lunch op.
Have a great weekend however you spend it. ❤️

Sorry for this Tom. Dogs are special. Mike She's managed to make it to her fifth birthday in December which is all on borrowed time, so we should just be happy she's been with us so long. Such a sweet little bugger! She sleeps on a pillow on the bed between us and we are very aware of her breathing at all times. In the past, we've been able to gently massage her throat and calm her down but it's getting much worse. She panics and then Helen panics and Doctor Dad holds her to his heart and calms her down. It'll break our hearts.

There's some blue sky today, and two parties to make an appearance at later. It's hard for me to realize that my nephew is closer to 40 than 30 here's to better days.
