It's Monday but
The Pats are back in the Superbowl, playing the Eagles. I hope the Pats win but the Eagles have been perennial losers and I don't begrudge them their success this season. Like Doc, I can't really lose since I have ties to both areas.
Had coffee on the back porch because it's 50 out and headed to 60 later. Maybe the ice in the pool cover will melt finally. I may even go to the country club, what's left of it, and try to hit golf balls later.
The government is partially shut down but nothing that affects me. Trump's still President and that's OK. My IRA is doing fine.
Not bad for a Monday.
Have a good one.

I made it in to work before the snowstorm hit, which is nice, and even though I will no doubt have to drive home in the thick of it, it won't be in the heart of rush hour, and I've already lined up a guy to clear my driveway.
The Vikings are done for the season, and showed that they were good enough to handily win their division and now we can all settle in to the business of being Super Bowl hosts. I solidly prefer this situation to making it to the Super Bowl and losing there. The team is above average. Thanks, boys.

I play J-6 every day. I usually score +or- one side or the other of 50% -- sometimes better (today I got 10/12, but once last week I only scored 3). But whatever I score on a given day usually puts me in the top 20% of players each day. But by the end of the week in which I keep my usual 50% pace, I usually score in the top 5% for the week. The very definition of jack of all knowledge, master of very little. But since I usually do far worse than the contestants on the show each day, I wonder how well the average show contestant scores on J-6. I'm guessing they regularly get 10-12 right every day and score top 5% every day.

Good morning. It's 39 at my house. We're supposed to reach the low 60s. I was hoping to leave town overnight today but one small, immovable appointment torpedoed the plan. I'll probably dig some compost into the vegetable garden in preparation for planting tomatoes. Have a good day.

Good Morning Good People
Thunder and lightning and cold rain. Wet snow predicted for tomorrow.
Stuck at a desk writing boring reports.
Have as good a Monday as possible...

dogs got me up at 4:15, put them out and went back to bed - at least it wasn't raining. 41F, might get to 49F, sporadic rain and cloudy. It's shopping day, after chores of course.
better days y'all

Morning
33F/.5C Snow.
We may get 5 or more inches of white stuff, bummer. One customer this morning and then shopping to get supplies for a few days. I don't think we'll get snowed in but it is a PITA to have to go out just after a heavy snowfall and the roads are crappy.
Tom, little Min is as cute as they get.

A bit slow getting around this morning. It's 32º, but not sure what the wind chill is. It's only blowing 35-45 mph, with gusts to 65 mph. Bad hair day. A much better cap day, IF you can keep one on.
As part of my self-imposed program of returning to more serious guitar playing, I've been listening to/watching videos of players I appreciate. Started with the duo of Loren Barrigar/Mark Mazengarb, and the last 2-3 days, I've been watching Doug Smith doing his original "Renewal". I've picked out a few key phrases to use as right hand exercises.....heck of a tune it is.....

Very local--there's no snow in St. Cloud at the moment, or even much of a wind.

And some of his stretches are beyond my reach, so I cheat with thumb holds. Wife and two dogs and I were at the Oregon beach last weekend. Too much food, too little beach walking due to high winds and rain. But very relaxing to sit in front of a fire with big picture window views of the storm whipped waves hitting the beach.

Man, quite the adventure getting home today. I leave the office at 3 p.m., and usually get home in about 20 minutes. Today with all the fast-falling snow and temps right around freezing, cars are getting stuck or can't make it up even slight hills. Took me over an hour.
I am SO glad to have both AWD and snow tires!
