The scoped/laser pellet rifle is nice but I'm more of a .22 shorts in a lever or pump action rifle kind of guy. Get a few of the little buggers before they have a chance to get away. I agree, but the difference for me here is I can shoot the air rifle legally inside the city limits. Can't legally shoot a fire arm. There is that, but up at the cabin it is legal to shoot the red squirrels with a rifle. Red squirrels are rare down in the cities, they got killed off long ago.

Nice launch. Worth 5 cameras.

Sure but the Crosman Varminator comes complete with a “Barrel integrated, sound suppression system.” How much sound suppression does an air rifle need? Pfft.

you need the suppressor for anything over 1,027 fps (depending on altitude) because the pellet will break the speed of sound and give you a mini sonic boom (the 'crack'). I'll bet the suppressor interrupts the sound wave enough on that air rifle that by the time the pellet leaves it it's no longer traveling fast enough to create a boom and all you hear is the 'pfft'.
one of my neighbors had one of the pump crosmans. We used to practice in his basement. I'll have to look into getting one.
