A lot of folks here know that Lonnie Knight could play pretty much anything. He went down to Rockford, Illinois in 1976 for a weekend at Charlotte's Web, warming up for Norman Blake and came back with his version of Norman's guitar show-stopper "The Old Brown Case." Later, this little original LK tune was included on a record called "Guitar: instant production music," for Wisconsin public radio. I don't think Lonnie ever bothered to digitize it, so I put together this basic video of one of the tunes. I thought some folks might enjoy it. I have the full album. If anybody would like to hear lots of LK instrumentals, I could do a longer excerpt at some point. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aaqz_78BcI

That's great. I remember that Lonnie had done that with Blake. The tune "Old Brown Case" was one of the first flatpick guitar pieces I was familiar with -- having gotten the "Fields Of November" album when it first came out.

I did a bunch of these with Windows Movie Maker, which was easy as pie. Still getting used to its replacements. Will post rest of that album when I get more efficient. Glad folks liked the first one.

We went to see Gordon Lightfoot at Northrup around 1974 and this little guy opened for him.
There was just a chair and a mic on stage and he walked out, sat down, quietly said “Brown Case”, and lit into something I had never heard come out of a guitar before.
I became and remain a big fan.
