I can't sleep, so I thought I'd log in and say hello. I think New York broke a temperature record yesterday; it reached either 92° or 93°F.
Have a good day, all.

Also can't sleep. Now 4:45 AM but I have a cup of very strong dark roast at hand. We have to roust the 5th wheel out to get a window replaced and since we were already going to be on the road we made reservations at a state park for a few days. I will still be working most of the day but at least I will have some better scenery and some roads to walk where I won't be run down like an O'possum or a 'dillo.

Good morning.
Somewhere in the 80s again today but cooler starting tomorrow. Golf clubs are in the car and I'm waiting for my old golf buddy to contact me about breakfast on the way to the course. Haven't played since maybe October so it won't be pretty but it will be golf.
Happy Friday and May the 4th be with you too.

Up and awake. All is well out here in Flatlandia.
Poor Robin, my 9th grader, has just discovered heartbreak. Seems she and a boy have called it quits. Lots of tears, and there is no use for me to try and do anything but dispense a lot of hugs.

The heat is on. It will be 99 today, 104 tomorrow. We are planning on bailing out Monday morning, after the garbage service picks up the garbage so it won't bake all summer in the garage. It's nice in Portland now, but will be rainy and 61 when we get in Tuesday night. Hopefully it will dry out in a few days so I can mow the lawn, which I'm sure is looking shaggy.
But first. Coffee.

Good morning, good people. We had a high in the 70s on Wednesday and the 80s yesterday. Today it will be in the 90s and tomorrow over 100. So it goes around here.
I'm now allowed a little car travel so today, for a big adventure, I'll go to the grocery store and buy ingredients for the next four dinners. I'm trying not to get too excited.
Best wishes to Robin. You're right--nothing will help but hugs and time.
Have a good day!

Should get to the mid 60s, may have some sprinkles. Still have a couple hours of mowing to finish this cycle, then gardening to do. Was going to be playing bridge, but one of us wanted to spend time with family, I mean really, where are their priorities.
Better days y'all

You could try telling Robin that this breakup is just the first of many and that she'll get used to it... and see if that approach works any better for you than it did for me. (it didn't work at all for me)

Well, nervous as a cat. First Skype lesson with Standefer in a little over an hour. Feel like I'm going to a performance with a big audience. It's just a lesson for cripes sake. Oh well. Will be fun. I have 3 goals to begin with. Learn that Buddy Holly arrangement over the next 6 months, work on I'll See You in My Dreams, and work on putting more bounce in my picking. I perceive my playing as a little plodding. Well, I'll check in after the lesson and let you know how it went.

Well, my golf buddy wimped out on me so I went to the club myself. Spent some time on the range and then walked 6 holes, 1, 2 and 3 out and 16, 17 and 18 back. 2 bogies, 3 doubles and a triple including one ball lost in the water and one in the trees. Considering I haven't played in awhile, not too bad. Back's a little tight but not as bad as I had feared, yet anyway. They make it look easy on TV.

The fourth is a Jedi holiday, we workers in the empire still have to show up for work.
Had to be 45 miles from the shop by 8:15am so the whole day started way too early.

Morning

Out to breakfast at Grumpy Steve's for really good coffee and a nice waffle. A little bit of kitchen chores and then down to my shop. Pull a bridge plate this morning.

(it didn't work at all for me) "Gosh, honey, do you KNOW how many times I've been dumped? See? I turned out normal!" (Actually she is the one who cut this off. I think the young man was pressuring Rob for a physical relationship and she kicked him to the curb. Yes, we're there now...)
