The plan is to meet newly-minted Jet Blue flight attendant Baby Dottir in Chigago on Sept 6, rent a car, and decamp for Vinton where she will regale you with her excellent (IMH-biased-O) singing voice. Now I will be motivated to buy some strings for the D-18 and work on some calluses. I told her to submit a list of song she would like to do. Lately she has been listening to Brandi Carlisle. I requested her to give “Different Drum” by the Stone Pony’s. She has a big voice and might could kill that. Keep you posted.

Ambient dub, mostly.

So can Todd. He has killed many a song.

I don't think you have to change your outfits. Your spandex, fur, and feathers are fine. Go with what you know.

I am sincerely hoping that you and Baby Dottir make it to IdiotJam.
A bunch of old guitarists couldn't be worse than the typical array of JetBlue passengers.

Oooo, Brandi Carlile is incredible!
I particularly enjoy "The Story".
I've been working on the guitar for that one a bit, so fun!

Report: Actions: I bought strings (Elixr lights), I googled chords for The Story, Cannonball, Different Drum, 500 miles from home, made PDFs, and played till fingers hurt bad.
Learned: After 5 years or so of not playing, one has no calluses left. I remembered chords better than I thought I would. I have developed Arthur-itis in the second joint of my left hand index finger- it kinda hurts a little when I play. My singing voice is in worse shape than my guitar playing. I worked on the harmony for "Cannonball" and it was difficult. But... if I practice I think I can get it.
If we could get some practice time I think Bethany would give the Sat night audience a real treat. The girl has a good voice. She is not quite Brandi but Vinton will not know that.

Ok, you getting this, Todd? You shouldn't have any trouble with the singing part, a lot of it sounds like it isn't all that much different than yodeling. And I checked the chords, and you can do it in "G" with an occasional "C" and "D" thrown in. There might be a couple others, but Dave can cover those. You just work the mic, bat your eyes, and do that half-yodel thing every so often and you'll sell the song. And we'll be in the clover.

I listened, and watched. Our stage presence is to much better. Or will be, once we get started.
