The unofficial term I use for any friend that feels like a relative, but ain't, is friend-in-law. Low on the accuracy scale. High on the descriptive.

I'm familiar with godmothers and godfathers. Godsisters, not so much. Does this keep going into godcousins and godmothers-in-law and such? If your God-mother has a daughter she's your God-sister, silly. But if your God-father happens to be a transvestite, then she becomes your Fairy God Mother.
