How long does it take to drive from Chicago airport to Vinton?

It depends on whether or not you detour to Warsaw on the way.

The quickest way by interstate is about 4 1/2 hours.
When you coming? I'll head out there around noon on Friday, is my plan. I'm staying in Rurala. So I was expecting to head back home skipping breakfast in Vinton on Sunday. My little Civic might get crowded with 3 people and guitars and such. But I'd be happy to see you and we can probably work something out.
Let me know your plans.

She put in to get off for the 5th thru the 10th. Hopefully she will be off and can fly us to Chicago. I will rent a car and we will motor to Vinton. I would love to come in on Thursday and have most of Friday there but I don't think she could stand that much. I will settle for coming in fairly early on Friday. I need to ask her about JetBlue's policy with guitars. I want to bring my D18 but don't want it damaged.

Or give me a close by Waffle House. Mmmmm... Good grease.

Ohare to Vinton is four hours six minutes. Eply Field (Omaha) to Vinton is three hours fifty-six minutes. Basically a wash. You’re flying free but for those paying their way I’d look to see which is the cheaper flight. My guess would be Eply Field. If they are the same, Eply will provide the more relaxing drive.

I have asked Baby Dottir if JetBlue files to Eply Field. Probably not but it doesn't hurt to ask.

The Quad Cities Airport is also known for fairly inexpensive flights, and would put you about an hour and a half from Vinton.

However there IS an Eppley Field. It's located in Omaha at the exact spot where they would have built an Eply Field had they decided to do that. Eppley Field is also known by the airport code, OMA.

It’s a two day drive from Bakersfield. 900 the first day and 800 the second.
