Out with the dog twice, not a pushup day.

It's another soggy day in Austin. Yesterday my brother's funeral was held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. It's a very sobering and impressive place. The ceremony was moving. Today I'll have lunch with a local guy who's been a good friend since junior high school. After that there will be a sort of memorial service for my brother with pizza and beer. All's well except for the traffic on I35, which is ghastly. Enjoy your day.

Up at 4 as usual. Had a powerful and convicting prayer time this morning. In response I went to the living room where Nancy's Bauman Stoneware urn currently resides, sat before it, and asked forgiveness for...things. I'm certain there is more to come.
Wish I had done it "in the living years".

A grey and drippy day here in Hipster, NC. It’s good. I have a couple of flats of vinca and and a camellia to put in the ground. A little rain gives me all the excuse I need to procrastinate.

Good Morning Good People
Sunny and chilly now, cloudy and likely rainy later. Indian summer isn't happening on the Third Coast.
Day one of the Great Stair Project at Zack & Melissa's house. Zack tore off the carpeting on the stair treads to discover the treads are red oak and the landings are particle board; the builders in 1971 decided the stairs should be carpeted. We are replacing the particle board with red oak plywood and staining to match. This involves lots of cutting at odd angles and router work to create trim.
Cornflake -- hope your day involves good thoughts and good memories. Did the funeral at the cemetery involve military honors? My parents, both WWII vets, were afforded military honors at internment. For someone who is not the least bit militaristic I found the experience very moving.
Have a fine Saturday one and all.

Good, though rainy morning. I'm waiting for a break in the rain to do a trash run and pick up a package at the post office.
I was going to start a "Go-Fund-Me" page for JDD but I can't find a price for a sense of humor in Japan.
Have a good Saturday if you can.

Good morning! Up having coffee and looking for my level 5 Under Armour. We have an outdoor gig this afternoon in Grinnell. Forecast is for temperature about 45 degrees with a 30 - 40 mph wind. Should be interesting!

Good morning, sunny day here as I gaze out into cornfields across from my motel on the edge of Spring Green, Wis. I'll call Barb in an hour so and we'll meet for coffee before I light out for home and she stays for her tour at Taliesin. She reported via overnight e-mail that Max Weinberg's band was fantastic, and she danced her little tushie off. I shudda crashed the gala just to see that!
Great route home -- just west of here I'll hop onto Hwy. 14, which heads northwest and I plan to stop in Viroqua for lunch at the much-ballyhooed Driftless Cafe, where the menu changes daily based on what local farmers and ranchers have to offer. I'll stay on 14 to La Crosse, cross the Mississippi to MN and stay along the river on lovely and speedy Hwy 61, to Red Wing and all the way home, more or less. I'll be dealing with a 30 mph headwind all the way, if the weatherpersons are correct. Good thing I'm not riding a bike.
For any number of reasons.

Morning all. Coffee is poured, breakfast will be biscuits and gravy and eggs and fruit, provided by the Oregon Airstream club. Yesterday we drove up to the Johnston ridge observatory at at Mt St Helens, named after the volcano observer who died there when the volcano blew. Mind bending the power of the planet.
Today we will have lunch at a little cafe in Touttle that is supposed to Make killer huckleberry pies.

Good MorningAfternoon.....
Whew! What a morning! What a pleasure! What a lot of work! Taking care of Barb after her knee placement. It went fine. Doesn't hold a candle to what all she has done for me.
Now I'm busy polishing up Christmas tunes for the Christmas dinner at Saint Luke's.
Evan.....peace to you, Bro. Love the Isaac's version, have always loved Mike and the Mechanics too. I'm sure everyone has heard it, but it is worth another spin.

French toast with jam and the remains of some whipped cream cheese this morning. Chicken vindaloo on the menu for tonight (ingredients: chicken and a jar of Patak's vindaloo sauce). Going out to a nice brunch tomorrow.
Went to my chorus' gospel concert last night. I still say "my" chorus, but they sounded good without me.
Finished making the easy and the hard decisions and am ready to fill out my mail-in ballot. Did a couple of loads of laundry. Working on some pruning and other yard work while Mr. H does what is hopefully the last lawn tractoring of the season. If he gets done soon enough, we'll do at least half of our normal walk. Likely rain tomorrow, so likely no yard work then. I'm trying to get things done while I can due to 2 upcoming surgeries. Although not major, they will limit what I can do for a while.
Oh, I also squeezed in about 15 minutes on guitar. Not enough.
