Does anybody else own one of these Anderson music stands? I got mine years ago when Matt Fox came through town when touring. He was a promoter of them at the time. In fact he’s on their promotional video. I made him sell it to me before he left. I still use it every day and it really is a great music stand, not mention cool looking.

That's cool.
DANG, it's expensive ! ! !
I just bought a portable metal stand for $25. The Anderson price I see is $500

Plain metal for me. It’s like the beautiful wood guitar stands you can get at the guitar shows. They’re gorgeous, but it’s a lot of money.

What would a guitar player do with a music stand?

I have a music stand. Barb uses it to hold crocheting patterns.

That would probably be useless outside of the house. There are great metal stands that fold up and fit in a gig bag. I've got all I need.

What would a guitar player do with a music stand? Well, it’s the only way I can stand my music of course.

If I get close enough to the music stand to read the music there's no room for the guitar.

I am still saving up for a Blue Chip pick since I was turned down for financing. Not taking out a mortgage for a music stand.

Watch the video, it’s quite clever. But you’re right, it’s pretty fancy for road work. I like the shape factor and appearance and funtionality. I would like them to make one out of something other than Brazilian-whatever wood. It'd be lighter and cheaper and less susceptible to damage.

What would a guitar player do with a music stand? Read music, like a real musician.

What would a guitar player do with a music stand? Use it to hold the words to a song he hasn't memorized yet.

Now, here is a meaningful guitar-player accessory:

Now, here is a meaningful guitar-player accessory: There is one of those on a mic stand at The Clam Shack and I use it to hold my 12 oz. Scotch and water while I'm on stage. Helps to clear the throat while deciding what to play next.

What would be the ratio of scotch to water in that 12-ouncer??? Actually, I have a standing order with the assistant manager so if I show up for the open mic she brings me one, no need to ask and occasionally she comps it. Anyway, it's just a 12oz. Pepsi glass mostly full of ice so it won't melt for awhile then mostly full of water but with just a shot of Dewars White Label thrown on top, sometimes a large shot. It's enough to get me through my set, I try to go on early usually 2nd, and really it does clear the throat pretty well. Once I've played I revert to a regular 8oz. Dewars and water. Fortunately, she's a fan. In answer to your question, about 10 or 11 to one water to Scotch. On one recent occasion it was a little heavier than that because she just emptied what was left in the open bottle.
