I just made octopus salad for tonight's meal. Not at all traditional. We kept looking at the leftover Bluver octopus salad in our freezer, commenting that we'll never eat it until summer. With the last of our unseasonably warm weather today, we decided to do it. I added lemon juice and several other ingredients.
Now Mr. H has the kitchen. He's making pecan pie for tomorrow, then low salt bread for the next door neighbors. We will also provide them with a batch of his fudge. We have successfully delivered fudge to 3 neighbors and can't seem to catch the other 2 at home.
Christmas dinner will be things pulled out of the freezer from Thanksgiving. It will be a small party of two. We have a lot to celebrate, being now both reasonably healthy after a rough year. Just got the call today that the latest suspicious thing pulled off my skin last Thursday was benign. Three more checkups at 3 month intervals and I go to 6 months.
This holiday season we've been hearing from friends and family who have not been in touch. That includes my crazy cousin who makes up stories that I know to be untrue.

Bloody puritans. Where would life be without drinking, dancing and public gluttony? Joyless commies, the lot of them.

I just returned from serving as a Eucharistic Minister (aka Liturgical Sommelier) at the first of four Christmas Eve services. The sanctuary was packed. It was cool. Now I'm in the Christmas spirit.

Congratulations.

.... I'm sitting on the couch watching "An American in Paris" (the Broadway musical, not the movies) on the Broadway channel on Amazon Prime... I saw that a month or so ago, initially against my will, but I ended up really enjoying it.

... Leaving at noon, hanging out with Mizz Lola for the afternoon... None of my business, really, but, does your wife know about this Mizz Lola? (the band needs you in one piece with all parts working)

This holidays spirit has been very difficult for me but today my piano at the rehab place was good and soon I’ll go to the church now so I will enjoy the music. Now I’m in the Christmas Spirit Thanks Flake
