No. But it looks like they might take a 3 week break from it.

If I were a cynical person, I might wonder aloud if this "recess" has anything to do with flights being able to reach Atlanta on Super Bowl weekend.

A pay wall? Brilliant. The Mexicans get to come over, but they pay to do so. So, Trump didn’t make this shit up, after all?

If I were a cynical person, I might wonder aloud if this "recess" has anything to do with flights being able to reach Atlanta on Super Bowl weekend. That is the saddest thought yet this month, Bill, that both parties would agree to make things work for Super Bowl, because their constituents would be super pissed if their travel plans got interrupted, and all the other people suffering because of this were not enough to make it happen. We shall hope it’s not so.

Trump just bought the farm. He accepted a deal like Reagan accepted in '86, a promise from a Democrat. Better start learning Spanish. The border will remain open.

I’m sure Trump did it so he could give his State of the Union address to congress.

Ever the optimist, I think this augurs well for a deal before the 3-week extension ends. No doubt both sides will stretch it out to the very last second - in DC nobody does anything until a deadline is imminent - it's just part of the bargaining process. But my suspicion is Trump will conclude in the end that he can't win this particular fight, and so will yield enough to make a compromise possible with both sides giving up something.
Setting the stage for the next shutdown opportunity, when the debt ceiling comes due for raising in September. Government by shutdown.
This is no way to run a ship.

"Ever the optimist, I think this augurs well for a deal before the 3-week extension ends." I agree. I think there will be extreme reluctance all around to having the government close again.

At this point, it’s more like everyone who had something to do with Trump’s campaign has committed a federal crime. At this point, whose left, aside from hisself and his family? The way this is moving, they’ll find out that Pelosi was involved, to piss off Hillary.
