Just got home and it's WAY worse than I expected -- half of my driveway entrance is blocked by a wall of snow/ice that is about 5 feet high, the other half maybe 3 to 4 feet, and then the level part of the driveway itself is 2 to 3 feet deep, everywhere. I need to find a guy with a plow! Wow. Yankees are tough. Everyone here would curl up and die. Well, I'm back inside, the car is in the garage and the driveway and front steps are clear. A neighbor agreed to clear out the wall that the plow left with his snowblower and I did the rest by hand, but the snow was light and fluffy and not that tough to shovel.

That really sucks, Bill. One thing I do not miss about living in town is the iceberg the city deposits at the end of your driveway.
I was home because all the schools were closed, and Kim took the day off simply because she could. We went into town to meet her sister to make flower arrangements for her brother’s funeral on Friday, and it really wasn’t good. Since no children live on our gravel road it is now “low priority” so the only way we got out was by the farmer down the road plowing a single lane tunnel so the rest of us could get out, although the tires were spinning on the slightest incline. A terrific guy to do this for his neighbors. The highway was covered with some sort of slush/ice combination, so I drove quite slowly, and while we were in town the thought of the drive home just ate at me, as it was raining slightly.
My problem with winter weather is the angst it brings. It needs to be spring.

Your weather may be awful but your neighborliness is great. That's how a lot of the country used to be but no longer is, alas.

Pretty shut down here today. About 6-8 inches. We have a gig in Zumbrota Saturday, I am a little concerned about travel looking at the forecast.

Yup, another storm coming through Saturday. Here it's supposed to be rain, which will get rid of a lot of snow. Right now our front yard has a pile of snow as high as you'd see in a Wal-Mart parking lot.

Just got my driveway cleared this afternoon. No place to push the snow on the side of the driveway so it's getting moved into my back yard.

Was thinking I could hollow out my new "snow mountain", make an igloo type thing, then next July when I'm mowing lawn I could take a break and crawl inside to cool off!
