Honest. I was just going to kick tires. But first, it's probably best to start at the beginning.
I met David for lunch at this great Cuban food place, which I had never been too before. I have never been to Cuba either, but this place seems authentic to me. Check it out.

We met at 11:00 at the restaurant, and they were only serving brunch until 2:00, so we had tortillas, which in the Spanish tradition are egg frittatas. Mine had shrimp and veggies in it, and was delish. A touch of their house made banana ketchup and chipotle sauce made it perfect.
After brunch, we went off to Portland Music acoustic store, to kick tires. They had lots of nice instruments in store, from the usual suspects. Taylors, Martins, Breedloves, Guilds, and some used instruments. I found lots of guitars that I like, usually with prices from $1500 on up.
There was this one Martin 15 000 that was really quite nice, but the asking price was $1500, so that was slowing me down a bit, as this is my going to be camping guitar and if something happened to it, it shouldn't be a great loss. And granted, 1.5K isn't a 4K guitar, but still. So although I quite liked the little Martin, I was dragging my feet. David was quite helpful during all this, bringing out more expensive guitars for me to compare it with. 🤔
But that was not all he was doing. He kept fondling a Córdoba nylon string that had a slightly narrower nut width than a typical classical and guess what happened? Yep, it followed him home. So David bought a new guitar.
After which we decided we should maybe do a check on GC, and see if that Gibson he liked was still there.
The local GC has a lot of guitars in it, and I was looking at some Ibanez with laminate back and sides for about 300 bucks as a camping option, then we found the Gibsons and they really did sound nice but for like. $1700, bucks. I found a VERY nice Taylor V class but it was $2600.
And Then, David discovers a used Seagull dread. Cedar top, solid cherry back and sides, and it sounds freakin great. I mean great compared to any that we played great. And it was priced at 329 dollars with a case. With a great setup. Compared it to a new Seagull and could find no play wear. And all my excuses for not buying a guitar evaporated. So now I just have to explain it to my wife. Anyone know a good attorney? David?
