I thought Joe Biden handled the emerging allegations just right with his video response. Barring future bombshells I bet this becomes the standard script going forward for those in the cross hairs. He has always seemed like a touchy-feely type in that smarmy capped teeth gelled hair baby kissing politico way. I doubt there is any there there as regards these allegations but who knows. Oh and yeah, he's clearly running

Now I'm thoroughly creeped out.
Thanks a bunch.

I'm mostly sympathetic with Biden on this. I also take note that Lucy Flores is an avowed Bernie Sanders supporter. She endorsed him in the 2016 primaries, Sanders has raised money for Flores, and she's on the board of Our Revolution, a political action committee affiliated with Sanders. It wouldn't surprise me to find out she let loose this little bombshell at this particular time in hopes of helping clear the field of old white guys to make space for Bernie.
But I have to say Biden should know better than to go around sniffing women's hair and kissing then on the head without their approval. It's just not acceptable behavior in any context. Biden does have a track record of gaffery, a fact I think a lot of people have lost sight of since he's been out of the public eye for a while. As much affection as I hold for him - his political leanings (for the most part) and his personal story - the Democrats need the most bullet-proof candidate they can possibly field to vanquish the orange dreadnought. Having Biden head the ticket robs them of the issue of respectful treatment of women. For that reason, I'm guessing he'll be talked out of running; for will be bumped off in the primaries.

Unless something comes out, I don't see Biden as a predator. Touchy-feely to the point of creepy, yeah.
I'm certain the fuel for this is coming from other contender(s).
Why can't they assail one another on issues? Yeah, we've lost our way.

Hair-tousling is probably out. Baby cheek-pinching, too (as in actual babies, not babes)
The pope is on the forefront of the receiving end on this--not allowing people to mouth or slobber on his ring.

I’m not sure, but I think Bill was fondled by Pat Paulsen once.

That Pat Paulson had to warn people off from actually voting for him--that it was an act--kind of prefigures trump.

We used to have the rhinoceros party. They were great, always ran candidates. "Our platform.... It's made of wood." Regarding capital punishment: "If it was good enough for my grandfather, then it's good enough for me". got to love a party like that.

I’m not sure, but I think Bill was fondled by Pat Paulsen once. Because of the way Bill brags about it every chance he gets?

Have I ever been fondled by a politician? The closest I've come was back when Bill Proxmire was a senator from Wisconsin. Bill was a regular at any kind of special event; parades, dedications, ribbon cuttings, and even Milwaukee Brewers games. Over the years I must have shaken hands with Proxmire two dozen times. It was unavoidable. If you didn't walk up to him, he'd walk up to you with his hand extended.
Even after all that time and all of of those handshakes he never seemed to remember me. What's up with that?

Physically, no.
Metaphorically, many politicians have fucked me. It is what they do.

Funny how the Dems are now supposed to put forth a candidate that shouldn't sniff hair or hug given who is in office. Why care about the appearance of morals? Isn't slimeball Trump proof that it doesn't matter?

Biden and I once took a smoke break at the same time at a political function. We nodded at each other and smiled. He's had a long career and he's said and done many dumb things. Who hasn't? But given what Trump has gotten away with, I'm not sure how much that matters any more. In my eyes he's too old to be my first choice for president. He's not too immoral.
