Good morning.
A sunny Sunday for a change. Need to get some groceries so I'm trying to walk without a limp so I won't look disabled at the store. Maybe pushing a cart will help.
I have to admit that at 8am this morning I could hear a chainsaw running somewhere in the distance but it wasn't mine. That's in reference to peace and quiet comments yesterday. The saw didn't drown out the birds chirping in the trees. It's nowhere near as noisy as a city even on a Sunday morning.
Have a good one.

Slept with the window open last night. Man, did that feel good. Looks like rain today but it should hit 70. All in all, things look pretty nice. Not hearing the furnace run is a good thing.

Good morning. We'll have 60s-80s. I'm going on a brief photo outing. Then church, then cooking brisket for dinner tonight with some friends. Enjoy your day.

Had the window open here for a while today, too. Also, first post-surgery shower, which felt good (hot towels to wipe and shampoo over a sink till now).

Good Morning Good People
Cloudy and warm.
Spent Friday evening and most of the day yesterday with Mizz Jordan. Zack was finishing varnishing the steps he and I had labored on. Zack and Jordan hung out here while the varnish dried and the house aired out. Got to go backpacking around the neighborhood and then Jordan took a nap on Papa's shoulder.
Off to church, then a little yard work and office work. Spending the evening with Mizz Lola. Grandparenthood is a full time job.
Have a fine springtime Sunday one and all.

Last night my wife and I watched the film, Stan and Ollie. It was excellent, with two swell performances from John C. Reilly and Steve Coogan, as the comedy duo. They really nailed it — appearance, speaking voices, mannerisms. Also, the two little-known actresses who played their wives were fantastic. It affords a behind-the-scenes look at what their relationship was like, how their career track went, and how they worked and put together their comedy routines. And all the ups and downs.

Now that’s a good Sunday Serenity Sanctuary ! Edit: I walked San Anselmo seminary - thoughtful peaceful relaxing then cooking chicken and talked with few friends. The next time it’s going to be practice my piano The next time it’s going to be practice my piano.....redundant lol. Most of the time I’m solo and a solitude man. But I’m still social

Wish it was raining today, will spend it on the computer doing taxes, and the justification for variance.
Better days y'all

Final day of the Skull and Roses Festival. Yesterday was counting the songs most popular with performers. The winners had been played 4 times.

Out and about a my daughters’ dance competition. They look good today.
Band practice later, then a protracted session of stretching to get my back back in wack for the work week.

Well, my weekend has had a lot of aviation in it. My friend Nancy and I had drinks and fish fry Friday afternoon at Holman's Table, the runway-adjacent eatery at St. Paul Downtown Airport, where there were plenty of bizjet arrivals because of the Final Four. Then I drove her up to Indian Mounds Park to see the historic airway navigation beacon built in the 1920s as part of a system to guide air mail pilots between St. Paul and Chicago. I went back to HT for breakfast on Saturday morning and the airport was REALLY hopping -- virtually nonstop arrivals, then I went home and fell into a computer rabbit hole. Those of you who have ever poked around in FlightAware might know how addictive it could be. I set up a destination page for the St. Paul airport, and it listed in constantly updating fashion all the pending arrivals. Click on the tail number and learn all about the airplane and its flight and arrival time, follow its path on a map, etc., etc. Because all these bizjets (some turboprops, too) were landing from the north, I could watch them crossing over Hwy. 36 and then hear them going over my house -- so cool! "Ah, there goes the Falcon that took off from Teterboro, N.J., two hours ago." Today I drove down to Elsie's in northeast Minneapolis, had a "Northwoods" omelet containing ham, cheese and wild rice, and hash browns so crispy that Marty would have been in heaven.

Woke in the middle of the night to the sound of thunder, flashes of lightning, and the digital clock blinking. First thunderstorm of the season, and first power outage. Spring is officially sprung. Another couple months of this and I can put away my wool socks.

I was expecting to go to the shotgun range to chip some flying clay targets with eldest son, but we decided against shooting in the rain. Looks like we will meet for some lunch and to get a puppy crate - I am flying to Denver in a couple weeks to pick up a Vizsla puppy for youngest son.

Did you see this King Air? Would have flown in from Centennial in Denver. Landing would probably have been shakey.

Well, she gets points for cuteness, at least! There actually were some arrivals from Centennial, but a lot more from Texas and Michigan, plus Virginia and Alabama.

I woke last night to the sound of thunder. How far off I sat and wondered. Started humming a song from 1962. Ain’t it funny how the night moves. When you just don’t have as much to lose.
