Good morning
Got a call from the physical therapy place at 10:30 yesterday morning. They had a 11:00 cancellation so could I come in. Yup they're only a couple of miles from here so I went. My original appointment wasn't until the 14th. Had a lot of poking, pushing and prodding but that just proved I had pain from a herniated disk I guess and I know that. I have some exercises to do to try to take some pressure off the nerve and the exercises hurt but after them the pain is a little less for awhile so I'll do them. Have a follow up appointment tomorrow to see if the exercises are working. Mostly, I still think the cortisone shot (s) have the best chance of doing good other than surgery which is a last resort. Mary's trying to get me a faster appointment with the pain management doctor but I don't know if she'll succeed.
Meanwhile, I'll just continue my Scottish warrior act and work through the pain and observe Scotch O'Clock.
Happy Thursday.

Rough night of little sleep, but at least I'm not bleeding all over myself anymore. I think. If I'm still spotting the gauze this afternoon, I may call the Doc back. I know I had to get this surgery done, so I'm going to be patient with the recovery, but dang. Anyway, Good Morning!

Lots of flooding all around us. Some roads are still closed after we got 5.5 inches of rain in 36 hours. Luckily, we are high and dry here. Looks like the Mississippi has flooded Davenport and some other areas of Iowa. There is supposed to be more rain here today. Someone I know called yesterday and said all of their floor heating vents were full of water. I have no idea what you do about that other than pump them out. That was a new one for me. Stay dry.

Dang, Paul, that doesn't look like fun. Get better soon.
Today is my 38 Anniversary.... well Lisa's too I guess. She is still trying to chip some of the dumbass off me. I bet she didn't think it was going to take so long when she agreed to take on the job. But she was young and didn't know any better.... then.

Ditto what Paul said. I doubt any of our wives knew what they were getting in to.

Fiddlerina has had to go through that. She’s been through two windshields and a plate glass wall leading with her nose. She was in the Air Force and on duty so the VA looks after her. She recently had some scar tissue removed which helped but still has issues with one nostril.

Dub, I, for the life of me, could not recall any nose injuries, which was why having a deviated septum that started causing other problems about 18 months ago was so strange. Lying awake last night, I finally remembered that I got dinged once pretty good playing sports in college. Now it all makes sense, 33 years later!

Quick healing to all infirmarites. My tight cutaway side came out of the bender just perfect. Guess my modifications worked. Thanks for any positive energy sent. Continues cold and rainy. Good day to be in the shop.

Good morning
57F/14C Cloudy.
Compared to others in this group my aching back is minor. But it would be a lot easier to get some work done without it. Making carnitas enchiladas tonight, but that means I have to do a little shopping. no tortillas.
Pine Island 81F.

Paul, that looks very painful and I'm guessing that eating doesn't even appeal.
Got back last night from the house closing in Tucson. Monday morning we went to 2 banks for cashier's checks. Came home and loaded the car. Drove to Tucson and met with the escrow agent. Signed papers. Checked into a hotel. Went for a walk. Had dinner at the Korean place that we tried on the last trip. Tuesday morning we went to the podiatrist to pick up my new orthotics. Then had a leisurely breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Did our walk and were in the shower when our agent called to say she had the keys. Met her at the house, unloaded the car, checked all utilities. Went to Home Depot to buy a ladder and some PVC pipe to secure the arcadia doors. Changed light bulbs and secured the doors. What else we did, I can't remember. Dinner at a pizza place. Stopped at a grocery store to pick up breakfast items. Back to hotel. Got up at 6:15 yesterday morning, had breakfast in the room, checked out and went to the house. Amazingly, all service people showed up when they were supposed to and did a good job. (One had given us a 4 hour window, so showing up on time wasn't hard.) Got locks changed, Internet and phone service, and the alarm guy looked at the existing system and possibilities. Should be getting a quote for various options on that today. Outta there around 4:00 PM. A 2 hour drive home, unloaded the car, showered, and had dinner. Fell into bed about 9:00 PM. We're too old for all of this activity.
Planning to go back on Sunday for another round of getting the house ready. Mr. H has an appointment there for an eye injection on Tuesday. We'll take an air mattress and other essentials for spending a couple of nights.
