Good morning.
Go to the hospital this afternoon for the long awaited lumbar steroid shot that may relieve this sciatica pain. It will be a long day for Mary but I guess I get to sleep through some of it. Hope this works but I've heard mixed reviews. No food after 7:00am so I'll be hungry later.
Happy and healthy Thursday if you can.

Good morning. Yesterday I had lunch at a mostly vegetarian restaurant. It was the choice of my friend. After his second heart attack he decided to adopt a vegan diet. There was some animal protein available for the unenlightened. I had the shrimp, avocado and brown rice bowl. Not bad.
An overnight rain obviated the need to water seedlings this morning. Daughter Julia's on her way to Slovenia. My wife's last day of work before the summer break was yesterday so she'll be underfoot now. It's a good thing I love her.
I'll help at the food bank this morning and then tend to a few to-dos. Enjoy your day.

"Whazzup in Slovenia?" I have only a vague notion of where it is but our other daughter visited there a few years ago and thought it was gorgeous, so Julia decided to go see.

Good Morning.
63F/17C Mostly cloudy.
The girls dragged me out of my shop early yesterday to go grocery shopping. Up side of that is I'm working on a Guild neck reset and it, as Guild's usually are, is complete PITA. They are made with a glue that hangs on like grim death even under heat. They also do the finish after the neck is installed. Because of this they get away with a rather ill fitted neck that is held in with masses of glue, and filler to hide the poor fit under the finish. So having the girls drag me away was timely as I was getting frustrated trying to get the neck properly fitted. I think they heard the foul language issuing from the shop.

My condolences Marty, now I am even happier I farmed that one out to you, but I do feel your pain brother.
Cold, rain, and viral infestations combine to lower the joie de vivre index a bit up here but it could be a lot worse.

Just got back from a talk with Betsy Ross, Harriett Tubman, Barack Obama, Emilia Erhard, and Frank Lloyd Wright. . . . , The 5th graders at Westgate School are doing a Wax Museum History Day. My granddaughter is Betsy Ross. They are each given a character from history. They make a costume and memorize facts about the life of their character. They recite their schpeal and you have to guess who they are. There are 60 kids stationed around the big cafeteria room. And adults and younger kids in the school walk around and ask each character to give their talk. Then you have to guess who they are. The program lists all the historical characters. It's noisy because all the kids are talking at once. And none of them has booming voices. But it's fun. And I think it's a great way to teach history. Plus the kids get to work on speaking skills, plus coming up with a costume.
Cool.

This morning the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and a number of other Arizona locations woke up to snow. The local National Weather Service posted this comparison of the forecasts for Phoenix and Fairbanks, Alaska. No one's complaining.
