Maybe a rehearsal would have helped.

Yuck! That is the worst thing ever. The Bangles are ok, sort of.

Second-worst version I have ever heard. The worst was by some dark emotive skinhead - I think it was posted on the SoundHole years ago. (Did anyone else hear some echoes of Bookends in the intro to the Simon/Dylan version?)
I kinda like the Bangles version of Hazy Shade of Winter. The electric guitarist nails a memorable riff.
(on edit -- somewhere in YouTube world there is a Bangles version wherein the lead guitar stands out a little more, and is less distorted)

My major beef with the Bangles take is that the harmony mix under emphasizes the melody. The harmony line is louder.
The thing that's astounding about Sound of Silence is that the same guy wrote this:
I mean, you could see the same guy writing this (it even echoes the same melody):
But the same guy wrote THIS:
or THIS?
I doubt anyone would accuse Simon of writing the same song over and over.

Or Bridge Over Troubled Water. The man was/is a genius.

Don't know or care about whoever wasted their time bastardizing the Disturbed appearance on Conan into some polka bs but this is the real deal. I watched the original video a bunch of times but not once since seeing this version.

Thanks for all the nice music. That and a couple more applications of boric acid and I think my ears will be back to normal.

This reminds me of a wonderful series of events about 10 years ago. I had run across a video clip of Paul Simon, who was in the process of writing "Still Crazy" and appeared on Dick Cavett's show. At that point he was not sure where to go with the bridge, and even played out his options for Cavett, who was no help at all. I posted that show's clip on Soundhole.
Reading the thread inspired Lonnie to resuscitate the tune into his repertoire and to post a YouTube vid of his revitalized version (below).
Which led the two of us to have a deep and meaningful conversation about what music theory meant to each of us ... blah blah blah.
Miss you dearly, Lon Man!
