Good morning, Monday though it is.
Supposed to be hot and humid this afternoon. Maybe that will warm the pool some. It was still kind of cool yesterday, not shockingly cold but cool enough to wake you up going in. It's been a cool and wet Spring but that's good for my electric bill.
Had a great Father's Day weekend. Mary (daughter #6) called and asked if we could go for a ride. Ended up at Cottonwood Marina (nice place up on the Missouri River, about half an hour north of town). Great time. That was Saturday.
Sunday Angie and I got in a ride to a winery she's been wanting to visit down by Lincoln. They have a stage outside, and a nice deck. They had Dustin Prinz performing. Good stuff.
Then later in the day yesterday, at our family dinner, Jessica's (daughter #5) boyfriend finally pulled the trigger and put a ring on it. He had asked me about that a few weeks ago, but was terrified to actually seal the deal. Good guy. I like him.
That was a pretty good weekend.

Great show last night by Gordon Lightfoot. 80 years old and he can still bring it! First set was mostly newer material, second set mostly early classics. He finished up with Early Morning Rain, one of my favorites. Big crowd, I would say excellent sound. This was the 5th time I've seen him perform, hope I have the chance to see him again.
My day was serenity sanctuary Sunday Music, talking people, walking, driving, nature
Now it’s Monday Moanday. It’s the week with errands, paperwork etc.
Enjoy peace.
We look at the outside clues that people show and make up stories. The stories are just stories. Interconnected. Making up stories is what human beings do. But, if we are wise, we can slow down, remember stories and learn.
Made a pan of carnitas and onion enchiladas last night. Also a pan of cheese and green chilies enchiladas, both were fabulous and we have left overs for lunches.
Making oil and garlic pasta tonight so I'll try Jdd's trick with the garlic.
Excaped Indy with a passably good pay check and mostly dry stuff. The rain held off the entire day.
If your belief system does not include incongruities that astonish, frustrate or befuddle you, it most probably does not include a power higher than you.
Another garlic trick is to put the cloves in a jar large enough to shake them well. Put the lid on the jar and shake. Most of the skin comes off in the jar and the rest is easy to peel. I first saw this trick with two metal bowls. A jar is easier to handle.
I don't know what's for dinner tonight, but it will probably include garlic. Had lox and bagels for breakfast yesterday. Dinner was pork medallions with a citrus reduction, baked potato, and zucchini.
Preparing for our next trip to the new house in Tucson. Packing and planning. The actual move is postponed until early August due to when we can get the exterior of our current house painted. That's a 4 day process. Longer if monsoon rains interfere.
Two sister, a half brother technically, but a little brother to them both. Heidi introduces me to her friends as Dad. I tell them she was born when I was 16. They shake their heads and grin. Heidi and I leave her spermatozoon donor Dad, Charlie, out of the history,
If I walked a mile in any direction, I'd still be nowhere. At our Tucson house there are a few restaurants about 1/2 mile away. One could have some wine and stagger home.
Taking a break from yard work. It's in the 90s, but only about 10% humidity. Just have to do my best to stay out of the sun. And, yes, I glopped on the SPF50.
If I walked a mile in any direction, I would need to call someone for a ride home. Did I post today? I have no memory of it. I have to stop putting vodka on my cereal. In my OJ, sure, but the cereal is a bit much. Anyway, if I did post, well, I guess I am posting again. If not, then I am finally getting around to it. Morning is over, though, right?

Careful with OJ. He's out of jail and looking to get even with some folks apparently..

Ah, I've done that shake thing with a plate held over top of a metal bowl. That might be better actually, since it doesn't pierce the cloves.
