Good morning. There's no rain here but there are quite a few fires. One of my favorite hiking spots burned.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning.
Looking out at the corn fields around me I'd say the corn is chest high to a giraffe. Don't know what kind of corn it is, sweet, cattle, seed? It' came up quick though and there's lots of it around here. I haven't seen anything but corn in the fields.
I guess mother nature owed us Summer after the cool and wet Spring and she's making up for it. Hot and humid through the 10 day forecast. The pool temp is about 90 now.
Running out of June fast. Happy Friday.

Morning. I was out in the yard yesterday when a woman slowed down, opened her car window and shouted, "Love your flowers" and gave me a thumbs up. At least, I think she said love your flowers and I think it was her thumb.

Good morning.
889F/31C Sunny.
Off to Fret Central. Glenn may bring Shoes by for a visit. She will stay in the car as she's not walking very well. I'll pick up a pig's ear treat for her on the way in this morning.
Pine Island 89F.

Off to get a haircut (between rain showers) and than back to see if it clears and I can cut the lawn before heading up Milwaukee way.
Sorry Lar and Concertina Girl, grandson's graduation party this weekend so won't be able to look you guys up. Hope to get up there and hear you before the end of summer!

I'll pick up a pig's ear treat for her on the way in this morning. Pine Island 89F. There are 15 to 20 food trucks lined up outside Capella Tower, as usual, but I was thrilled to see one of my favorite ones, World Street Kitchen, on hand today, and I am scarfing a red-curry chicken burrito even as I type. Besides the chicken and curry sauce, it has peas, fried rice, fresh basil and cilantro, and a killer sambal on the side. Not cheap at $10, but huge, so I easily will get two meals out of it. It's good to be the king!

The power at Fret Central is out and they won't have it back on until next week sometime This is the new million dollar super transformer they installed last year, the one that's supposed to last for 20 years. Everybody in the complex is working in the dark. Mike at Dogwood Banjos gave up and went home. Billy McLaughlin can't use his office or studio, 2nd floor and it's getting pretty warm up there. There are two glass blowing studios that can start their gas furnaces but have no fans to get them up to temp. The Caterers can use their stoves and ovens but with no AC they will duly suffer. And lastly the Brewery has huge vats of beer to be processed.
I went around de-tuning instruments just in case things get too humid and then came home for a nap.

Just apparently lost one leg of our power for an instant here. Some stuff went off nut other stuff stayed up. Since it was momentary I waited and eventually the DirecTV reestablished itself and the computer came back up. I suspect the quilt studio stayed up because I haven't heard from an upset wife. I don't think I'm missing anything but I'll go around and check. The electric company put out a "Beat the Peak" alert earlier asking users to cut their ueage and I of course didn't so it's probably my fault.

Back n' hip are still in general revolt. My sciatica is back for the first time in years. Dang. I did finally make a new patience appointment with the VA. We'll see what they think about those, and my damn insomnia. That said, I had a good week at work. We have an influx of new folks, bot military and civilian, and we are already leveraging the talent. <I did not proof read this for typos. Sorry...>

Took down a bunch of alder trees today, now have to figure a way to cut them in to smaller chunks and see if i can make split rails out of them.
Better days y'all

I did finally make a new patience appointment with the VA. From what I understand about the state of some VA facilities, a "patience appointment is probably a good idea.

Patient's. Sorry.
Actually, JB, the VA here is pretty good. Sadly, the cynics among us think that's because the Fort Leavenworth area has an abnormally high population of retired senior officers. It shouldn't be that way.
That said, the accumulated ills I incurred in the Service of the Empire are becoming a distraction. I'm really keen to reverse some of that.

Greetings from Emigrant Lake county Park just outside Ashland. Kicking back in the silver trailer, alongside a trusty Dachshund and the neighbors Golden Retriever. Oh yeah, the wife is here too. The new truck tows great, food has been good, and there is a wine tasting tonight. It’s good to be king.
