This morning when I used my iPhone to call up the SoundHole site, I got the site, but overlaying it was a window with a very official-looking notice that my iPhone had been compromised by 14 viruses, and I needed to take immediate action to protect my files. The window contained a clickable that supposedly would do the job.
I hope if anyone else had this experience, you did not click on that button, because I strongly suspect this is a piece of malware that in fact would implant viruses on your phone if you did.
I guess SoundHole is not a secure site, and is vulnerable to this kind of attack ... ? My Norton antivirus occasionally gives me a warning that the site is not secure, but this was the first time I've seen a real attack - if that is what it was.
Not sure what should be done about this ... ?
PS: I just checked my iPhone again, and the window has disappeared. There's nothing out of the ordinary going on when I call up the site on my desktop, which I just did to post this.

PPS: The "warning" on my iPhone appeared only when I dialed up the SoundHole site, no others.

Same experience in weeks past. It shows up randomly every couple of months for the past 4-5 months. Never seems to do anything else. I have never clicked on it. PS I'm on an Android phone.

I'm dialed up on my Samsung and don't see anything. Ironic, ain't it? I wonder if it might be iPhone-specific, because the message mentions the brand. It just popped up again. It says, "Your iPhone has been compromised. Immediate action required," and displays a "close" button. Maybe if I clicked on it the phone would explode.
