...with a little Dixieland, jug band, Cajun, and gospel in there for seasoning.
Our friend Craig Frailin' Evans is responsible for this nice montage from Clifftop 2019. Check out the fiddlers at 11:18. Well, at just about anywhere. There is clogging, square dancing, rattlesnake relocations and thunderstorms, and grand dames Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer frailing and plucking away. Oh, and a couple of frailers from Sweden.

Great Film.
At 32:36 took me right back to the Powelton Village, crazies I hung out with in the very early 70's.
Joey Trotter, Brook Trout, Too Loose Le Truck, Abbygayle. Vivid if faded memories.

I knew a Brooke Trout in junior college. Always ended up being seated next to him in classes we shared. Don't know what that has to do with bluegrass, but it always cracked the teachers up.

When I was coming up in public schools in Northern Virginia (high school in the late '50s), one of the required classes was square dancing. I was into rock 'n roll, and thought square dancing was, well, square. Happily, the form survived my generation, and today, at my age now, it's a joy to see these youngsters embracing these traditions with such enthusiasm, breathing new life into them, and paying them forward for generations to come.

I shall pour a wee dram o' whiskey and give it my undivided attention. Clifftop is hallowed ground for devotees of old-time music. Craig Frailin Evans has done an amazing amount of work producing amazing videos of banjo builders and old-time performers.
