Good morning. We have an excessive heat warning but life goes on. I'll have lunch with a recently retired friend. All's well.

Hi, all.
Still hot here, too. Heat warnings and everything. I'm glad my work is inside.

It's the excessive lunch warning I'd be concerned with. I'll be meeting a couple of old HS friends for lunch meself.
And I have a gig tonight. Practicing is done. Worked up my set lists last night. Probably go for a walk this morning.

Good morning.
I should mow today since my neighbor did his yesterday. Unfortunately while bent over the sink brushing my teeth this morning I suddenly had a sharp pain in my back and that hasn't happened since I had the cortisone shot in May so I suspect it's wearing off. I'll give the pain awhile to subside before deciding whether to mow. I really hate this. The nurse is still sleeping so I don't have a professional opinion on what I should do. I know I can't get any real help at the hospital anyway. Hope it goes away. Old age sucks.
Have a good one if you can.

Good morning.
75F/24C Partly sunny.
Grandson Tyler is doing his first solo refret today. I'll be there to answer questions but I will not touch anything related to doing the work. I might get some of my work done, we'll see.

Yesterday's mail contained a nice letter from Melania Trump asking that I contribute to Donald's reelection and that I sign a Presidential Pledge of Support stating:
"Please know that I am 100% behind you in these critical times when it is extremely vital that we stand united against the Democrats, the mainstream media, and other powerful foes who are determined to derail your Presidency and destroy you personally."
Since my support for The Donald remains some number of percentage points below 100, I have decided that it would be dishonest of me to sign the pledge.
I hope Melania will not be too disappointed.

This reminds me of the evening my brother, Jim, took me to a Pacer game at the then new Market Square Arena. Jim knows his way around Indianapolis like few others could. He has worked in Indianapolis for 35 years servicing ice machines in all the restaurants and public facilities around the city. As we were leaving the game and walking down an exiting concourse, Jim said, "watch this". With that, he grabbed his down coat around the bottom hem and held it tight to his body as he made a dash for the escalator ahead. He then lept up on the central handrail and slid all the way down on his back, ending with a flying exit at the bottom. I never asked how he knew he could do that.

First day back at work. This all-agency meeting I’ve been in since 8:00 is starting to be a struggle.

In Tucson, so it's hot. Actually supposed to be excessively hot at 109. But we had a very nice walk this morning. I really like our new neighborhood, which is near the Rillito River (usually a dry riverbed) and has lots of shade trees. We watch the car thermometer drop a few degrees when we drive in.
Got stuff unpacked, the kitchen mostly organized, and books on the shelves. Cleared a path into the music room. Been to Trader Joe's and Costco. Took Mr. H for his eye injection yesterday. Back to the old house tomorrow to get more stuff and do more yard work.

Just 6 months to Valentines Day.
A little bit warm but a tolerable 80 degrees. Heading for Lincoln City, Oregon on Friday to look at beach houses. I don't think we can afford it, but what do I know? Maybe it can produce income. Lord knows the DOW Jones is not working for us.
For those of you with red, ripe tomatoes, I am jealous. Wish I had put a little potash into our nitrogen rich soil earlier this year.
