Good morning.
Hot and humid again, Summer, but I may start the mowing anyway and try to stay in the shade as much as possible. I got the pool cleaned up already. We did have one small thunder storm yesterday afternoon, just enough to put leaves in the pool.
Happy Thursday.

Good morning.
75F/24C Sunny.
Up early due to street repairs, have to move the Ford. Opening day for the State Fair and it will be a fine one. Screwed the pooch on one of the bridges I was making, the one for the Martin(Brazilian). One pin hole is misaligned ever so slightly and not usable. I will make another but I also have a very cunning plan to fix the bad one, can't waste Brazilian.
Pine Island 90F.

A week of sunny and hot culminated in the neighbor getting his second cutting of hay baled and picked up yesterday so today we get to put bales in the barn. Today it's raining lightly off and on so not such a bad day for schlepping bales.

Does your cunning plan involve a 3/16” plug cutter, grain alignment, a little BZ dust, CA and a cunning jig Marty? Fretting the archtop today. Beautiful weather here so I probably won’t be in the shop all day.

Good morning. Recording a quick instructional vid for a student; teaching out at the VA; going to the *mandatory beginning of the year faculty meeting. Summer is officially over. (*mandatory, because of yet more new title IX training. One of the adjuncts had an affair with a student last year, so now the other 28–many of whom have been teaching there longer than my 18 years, without banging students—have to put in 2 unpaid hours during the last free week of the summer to learn how not to have sex with students.) Forget firearms: what academia needs is red flag laws on co-workers dicks. Between institutions, this will be my 4th title IX training session in 3 years, because some people play too well with others. Since none of us get paid for these meetings, I may bring my "baby" to pass around...

I'm always a little conflicted by these endless training session exercises (been a veteran participant since 1987). I'm never sure if I'm being punished for knowing how to keep my dick in my pants of if I'm being encouraged to go for it so the company can get their monies worth from the training investment.

Which reminds me of the joke: A young guy called Tommy bought a horse from a farmer for $250 and the farmer agreed to deliver the horse to Tommy the following day. The next day though, the farmer turned up at Tommy’s house and said, “Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the horse died.” Tommy replied, “Well, then just give me my money back. That’s fine.” The farmer said, “Sorry, I can’t do that. I went and spent it already.” Tommy then said, “Okay, then, just bring me the dead horse.” The farmer was surprised and asked Tommy, “Why? What ya gonna do with him?” Tommy replied, “I’m going to raffle him off.” The farmer laughed and said, “You can’t raffle off a dead horse! Who’d buy a ticket?” Tommy answered, “Sure I can, just watch me. I just won’t tell anybody the horse is dead.” A month later, the farmer met up with Tommy again and asked, “What happened with that dead horse in the end. Did you raffle him off?” Tommy said, “I sure did. I sold 500 tickets at $5 a piece.” The farmer said, “Didn’t anyone complain?” Tommy smiled and said, “Just the guy who won. So I gave him his $5 back.”
