or so says a new poll released by Monmouth University. Monmouth PollI'm not offering this as proof of anything nor am I certain about the poll's accuracy or even whether or not it's meaningful. If the poll is accurate, however, it points out a significant difference between public opinion and the opinion of the majority of the Democrats in the House. I've been waiting for a while now for some kind of popular backlash over the sheer amount of money and time the Democrats have devoted to ousting Trump. $17 million or so spent on the Mueller Report, countless hours of testimony in front of various House and Senate Committees, millions of dollars spent while one branch of the government sues another branch of the government, and who knows how many other millions devoted to hiring investigators to look into one thing and another. And there's no end in sight. What does seem certain is that lacking far more serious charges or evidence than exists now, it's likely that even if the House impeaches Trump the Senate won't remove him from office. Coming after a couple of weeks of teeth gnashing over the deficit this whole thing is beginning to look like a huge financial waste.

Oh Gee. And the Republican House voted 66 times to repeal Obamacare.
I waste no time and put no faith in political gesticulations on either side. I agree, Trump should not be impeached. It is a waste of breath. The Senate would never take it up. The only way to impeach is at the ballot box. Move on.

I suspect the steady increase in representatives who support an impeachment investigation has something to do with representatives being in their districts this month listening to their constituents. Which is how it should be.

Let's just cover our eyes and ears til his term is over and vote for someone less pathological. I've put a Warren poster on my front lawn today.
