Have good ones.
Off in about 2 hours for another paracentesis. Sheesh. It is getting better now that I fired my GP and have a real care team working for me.

Good luck, Dan.
Good morning.
Thank y'all for the kind sentiments yesterday. I'm still feeling down and the family is still reeling from the loss. They're planning to sue for malpractice but I don't know if that will work. I'm hoping the kids can get SS survivor benefits but I don't know what his work record was. Since he wasn't actually married I don't know if the girlfriend can get benefits but since she's responsible for the kids, maybe. She'll have to take it up with the Social Security Administration. Most anything would be better than the nothing they have now. Apparently the number of credits you need gets lower the younger the death and he was only 33. Don't know how that all works.
Happy Columbus Day or whatever you choose to call it. The banks and post offices are closed. I think the stock markets are open.

Happy Columbo Day. That Peter Falk was quite a guy. No mail today. Retired people hate no mail days. Have some fun today.

Good luck, Dan.
Up and awake in Missouri. We have the day off, and I believe we are going to the KC renaissance festival later. Yee-haw.

Their first time; my first time since either the mid-2000s or about 1992. Strange how things stay the same - the family loved it and wished we had more time there (me too).

Best pancake meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. www.thepancakepantry.com/The country stars frequently eat there. I do. Bruce, sorry about your nephew. Boy is that hard. In honor of Columbus Day I will get lost in a grocery store looking for spices. If you wish to honor Columbus’s memory, you should probably enslave some indigenous people.

Back from a retirees' club picnic. Had fun. Met a few people. Burgers and hot dogs provided and lots of other food that we all brought. We'll be eating our jicama salad for a while. A couple of local politicians talked, but not for too long. What wasn't fun was getting everything loaded in the car to go there and finding that we have a dead battery. Moved all the stuff to the pickup and got there before the food was gone. But now we have to go out and buy a new battery. Can't complain too much, as it happened in our own garage.
By the time we take care of this latest problem, do our walk, and get cleaned up, it will be past happy hour.
The plumber came by this morning and got the toilet in the guest bathroom properly seated and caulked. Also collected payment for that and the emergency water heater hose replacement that he did on Friday. Still have a bathtub faucet repair that we need to have him do. We're making progress.
