Good morning.
There's no football I care about today so I'll have to find something else to waste the day on. It's still cold here but not as bad as yesterday. Yesterday was so bad I actually watched the entire 3 hours of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" in the afternoon. My handyman is coming over this morning to detail the cars. It's part of his business and he asked if I wanted them done so I said yes. I wouldn't want to play in water at 40 degrees or less but he'll do most anything for money for his family so I try to give him any business I don't want to or can't do myself. I assume he'll have his wife helping him as usual. He has a regular job with the highway department but still does other work as he can get it. He's due here about 10 and it will still be cold by my standards.
Happy Sunday.

Good morning. I'm up a bit early for a short photo outing. I'll skip church because there's a specialized service I don't care for. Organ recital in the PM and then I'll warm up some smoked sirloin for dinner.
Yesterday my wife and I went to an art festival because a friend who does glass work had an exhibit. I really enjoyed a lot of the exhibits. There's a lot of creativity in the world and I always enjoy seeing its results.
Enjoy your day.

Just looked out the window and saw three deer by the pond. A male with a decent rack of antlers and two females were have a morning drink. The buck was pretty big and he had the air of being in charge.
I have been hearing shotguns early in the morning for the last week or so. I think shotgun slug season on deer doesn't start until the 16th of Nov so they must be hunting something else. Pheasant, maybe?

Morning, Dan et al. Up Way too early. Headed to Perdido Key for beach time. Snow advisory, freezing temps and high winds are forecast. I'm such a great vacation planner, eh?

We had a lot of cars houses etc. my ex-wife and I were both yuppies. It pretty much gone. I still have my mind - barely. And I still have a guitar - Barbarossa. A dulcimer. So I’m finding a digital piano soon.

Chilly but sunny here, flurries possible this afternoon. The Vikes have the late game slot, the Packers have the mid-late, so I will tackle housework and maybe go see about getting a new jacket -- my Cabela's one has seen better days.
I stopped by a just opened Firebox BBQ outpost in St. Paul yesterday on my way home from Nancy's party, brought home some ribs and brisket. The former was very good, on par with my gold standard, Big Daddy's, but the brisket, OMG, just luscious stuff. I'll be back there for sure. It's at Marshall and Snelling, boyz, has craft beer and wine and seems well run.
Patti Patton and I had an exchange of e-mails yesterday and she sent along these tips for maintaining (achieving?) sanity:
1. At Lunch Time, Sit In Your Parked Car With Sunglasses on and point a Hair Dryer At Passing Cars. See If They Slow Down.
2. Page Yourself Over The Intercom. Don't Disguise Your Voice!
3. Every Time Someone Asks You To Do Something, ask If They Want Fries with that.
4. Put Decaf In The Coffee Maker For 3 Weeks. Once Everyone has Gotten Over Their Caffeine Addictions, Switch to Espresso.
5. In the Memo Field Of All Your Checks, Write "For Sex Toys."
6. Skip down the hall Rather Than Walk and see how many looks you get.
7. Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.
8. Specify That Your Drive-through Order Is 'To Go'.
9. Sing Along At The Opera.
10. Five Days In Advance, Tell Your Friends You Can't Attend Their Party Because You have a headache.
11. When The Money Comes Out The ATM, Scream ”I Won! I Won!”
12. When Leaving the Zoo, Start Running toward the Parking lot, Yelling “Run For Your Lives! They're Loose!”
13. Tell Your Children Over Dinner, “Due To The Economy, We Are Going To Have To Let One Of You Go.”
14. Pick up a box of condoms at the pharmacy, go to the counter and ask where the fitting room is.

We had a solid performance of our Prairie Shadows show in a great little theater in a nearby town last night. It’s another songs and stories show, this time about the westward expansion of the USA.
One of my favorite songs is one done by Irish singer Cathie Ryan and goes with a story of a Norwegian immigrant woman whose young daughter died on the voyage over and now after a brutal journey across the prairie is enduring the hardships and isolation of homesteading and gets word that her mother who had to stay behind has died.
The two women that sing it do a good job.

Gray, but should clear later. I like the low cloud, misty mornings, it keeps the heat in like a fluffy blanket.
Better days y'all

Still enjoying the Gophers' win over #4 ranked Penn State. Big wins are a rare and to be treasured delight in Gopherville.

Started out wet but supposed to dry out and remain cloudy - around 60. Cut off our Satellite TV so I might try to find a digital antenna and watch some football today.
