I'm a vet, but it doesn't seem unusual. Isn't everyone?
11-11, also known as singles day in china (all ones), an invented holiday. It's like black friday and whatever monday's called rolled into one, last I read $30 billion worth of sales.
Rain/thunder later today, but I did get out early with the dog.

Good morning.
I'm a vet but don't get happy on Veteran's Day. There was nothing happy about my service time and it's way too late for the "Thank you for your service" crap. It just doesn't seem sincere to me, more like something forced upon people to apologize for the way we were treated. I was talking to my neighbor yesterday and his daughter, a senior in high-school, signed up for the Army reserves last week. She won't go to boot camp until after she graduates in June 2020. I guess she's looking at it as a way to pay for college. He'll be coming over this afternoon for a drink at Scotch O'clock and as an Army vet and a Cowboys fan he'll probably need more than one drink today.
It's supposed to be warmer today so I'll try to get some more painting done.
Be happy if you can. Otherwise, have a good Monday.

Fifteen degrees on my way in. I'm all bundled up in my longish Land's End coat, make it to the office and the big fat guy who's restocking the vending machines is wearing shorts.
Meeting Marty and Hiz Wife after work for a freebie supper at a tavern extending that courtesy to vets, then I'll go grocery shopping at my local supermarket, which is taking 11 percent off the total bill if you're a veteran.

It is 30 here but the wind and the snow is just starting. The temps are going to drop like a rock. NW of here things are dicey already. It may be a good day to stay inside and listen to music. Be careful on those icy roads. It should be 53 degrees.

Good morning. Thanks to all our veterans.
It'll be high 50s to about 80 here. That's warmer than normal, whatever "normal" is these days. Enjoy your day.

After being tipped off by a colleague, I ventured off to a skyway location of Caribou Coffee, told them I am a veteran and scored a tall cold-press for free. Makes those four years in the Navy so worth it!

Makes those four years in the Navy so worth it! I would serve you breakfast for free if you can get here in the next 45 minutes. Unlimited refills on the coffee and bacon. If you leave now and drive really, really, fast.....

Good morning.
18F/-8C Partly sunny.
Shop time right off the bat today so I can take time off this afternoon to meet Billy Bob for a drink. Me Darling Wife won't be going along as she has this week off work and will not leave the house unless dragged out by the hair. She's quite happy staying home where it's warm and sending me out in the cold to supply her needs. I did get her to go out to breakfast yesterday, that's one of her exceptions to the "I ain't going nowhere" rule. Breakfast at the Little Oven is worth a trip in the cold.

Walked the dog, cleaned up after the donkeys. Yesterday I apparently left their gates unlatched. A neighbor alerted us to the wayward pair then helped me get bridles on them to take them home. No drama, just me not paying attention.
Better days y'all

I'm in Perdido Key, helping the guys clean a pair of 21 story condos on the beach. Hey, somebody's got to do it.

Cool, cloudy, rain expected. We’ll head up to the cenotaph in a bit. A bit of writing, and some guitar later.
Going to be a busy week. Work, and other stuff.

55 degrees on the way to 60. Coffee consumed. Time to take the dogs, including my son's 8 month old, high energy Vizsla, to the bark park, walk my two miles and 18 stories, come home and have brunch.
We dropped our satellite TV subscription so I hope my $9 Amazon antenna arrives in time for me to watch the Seahawks and 49ers on FREE TV.
