From a Facebook page:Stan/Garnet Rogers set list auction. (See photo of list) "The timing won't be right for Christmas giving as the auction won't start for a while, but I thought I'd give a heads up on this. Some folks out there might be interested in the fact that I am donating a valued personal artifact, and a small bit of Canadian musical history to help my friends at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs NY raise some money for on-going costs. "This is a set list from the final tour that my brother Stan and I did with our dear friend and bassist, James Morison, in 1983, just a week or so before Stan was killed. "It is written in Stan's own hand, on the back side of of a bit of stationary from the Mount Royal Hotel in Banff Alberta. "How Stan got a hold of the paper remains a mystery to me. "We wouldn't have been allowed to darken their door, let alone their towels, under any circumstances. We must have swiped it from the lobby. "Anyway...maybe keep an eye out at the Caffe Lena Facebook page in coming months, and try a bid. It is a worthy cause. "Lena Spencer was a giant of the folk world, and a dear friend of mine, and I am proud and delighted to be able to help the club out in any way I can." - Garnet Rogers

Interesting. I was/am a major Stan Rogers fan. I love his music.

One of my very favourite songs covered by Stan and the band. Thanks for that.

"Night Drive" is a heartbreaker.
Garnet comes down into the DC area every so often. So far I've managed to miss him, but hope the next time will be the charm.

Don, if you want to see him in the states you'd best be quick. He is balking at the new very expensive choices for a temporary green card for artists. And he is not all that comfortable south of the border these days. It's very sad.

Garnet posted this today: "Friday Jan 10 we're in East Lansing Michigan, at the 10 Pound Fiddle. 4930 S. Hanson Road. Those of you who have read my memoir of life on the road with Stan might recall the terrible incident there, the first we played the 10 Pound Fiddle, which involved hippies, a commune called Rivendell, Clog Dancers, home made 150 proof moonshine, and a lost and mis-labelled human placenta which may or may not have been mixed in with a lasagna, and served to Stan, David Alan Eadie and myself for dinner. Happy days... I'm hoping for a little less drama this time through. Not to mention nausea."
He is touring with Connie Kaldor.
Don't miss it.
