It's Fry Day! The promising beginning of a weekend that's crisp on the outside and mushy on the inside! Have good ones.

We are into our 9th straight day with 100% cloud cover. Dismal. We are sacrificing squirrels to the sun god in the hopes of a breakthrough. Enjoy the day.

Taking the trailer out of storage today and parking it in McMinville, ready to move into either tomorrow or Monday. The movers come to finish packing up tomorrow and the move starts on Monday..

Good morning.
Hope Marty's OK.
After the wife read the cruise reviews which aren't good she agreed it was a bad idea. So now we have to think of some other way to celebrate putting up with each other for 50 years come April 30th. That's not going to be easy because of my current physical limitation and her allergies and other issues. Might take a drive down the coast and see if there's anywhere we'd rather live than here. We have friends in North Carolina and relatives in South Carolina but haven't spent much time there. The farthest I've driven in the past couple of years has been around 100 miles one way. That could have got me to the cruise dock but not much further. Flying would still put me in a forced siting position which tends to hurt and make it hard to get moving again. I had figured that on the ship I could move around when I needed to which was one reason I considered it. I try to not look like I'm in pain because if I limp and it's noticed I get a bad reaction but unless this gets better, and I was told last week that I may have to just get used to it, I can't really appear "Normal" and "Happy" and wanting to walk any long distances. I don't want to be old, it just happened one day.
Anyway, it's Friday, a little warmer and less windy than it has been lately so things could be worse.
Hope y'all have a good and healthy day.

Good morning. There's a fair amount of variety in my life but Fridays are my designated chore days and they're pretty constant: laundry, grocery shopping, etc. Since it's the last day of the month, I'll use up my remaining free reads of the New York Times. If this gets too exciting I'll lie down for a while. Enjoy your day.

Bruce DC is a great visit as a tourist. Spend your travel money on a first rate hotel and rent scooters at the museums. That's world class vaca there.

The Smithsonians are great but a lot of walking. I'm not sure what I want but it can't be work and it can't be a hassle. The cruise ships look like a hassle, especially the 4000 passenger versions and up. The smaller ones are probably like the one we took to Bermuda, old, cramped and loud. It's been so long since I had any fun I don't remember how to have fun anymore. I think it's old age depression coming on.

You want fun? Come to Idiot Jam. No quilters. I think Amana and surrounds are full of quilters. The State Fair awards prizes. Some of the most beautiful quilts you’ll ever see.

Uber and scooters make the vast distances on the mall and in the museums very doable. Compared to a cruise even being extravagant on this weekend is comparatively cheap. I just love the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam and Korean memorials. And food! Can't beat it for the price.
