After spending months parked in the boondocks at the deer camp and then another month or two back at the home place in McNeill, MS we have migrated east and south and are now ensconced in an RV park outside of Orlando in a little town called Christmas.
Boss daughter said I needed to get may posterior over here to show my face, make some meetings and get some things done. So as I usually do what I am told by female members of the family, here I be.
The lifestyle is very different and not just because of the juxtaposition of boondocks vs. busy, crowded city. At home I work, stop working, and watch YouTube. Rinse and repeat. Since being here a little over a week we have hosted Baby Dottir, Son, and their SO's for a cook out, played bingo, won a poker tournament, attended a pot luck dinner with a hundred strangers, sat around a campfire drinking Jack Daniels with a dozen semi-strangers (mostly Canuck snow birds) occasionally singing along with Pandora, went to a farmers market in Orlando with son, granddaughters and 10,000 Orlandoites, and have gotten back into the habit of daily walks. In a few minutes I will attend a breakfast at the RV community building.
Yesterday, I retrieved my dad's old Fender acoustic from under a bed at my daughters house and actually tried to play some. My fingers know most of the chords but my brain can't remember them without reading them off a sheet of music. My voice is worse. I have lost a lot of range.
Anyway, we are in the Orlando area, working and hanging with Canuck and Yankee snowbirds.
Still on my to-do list is to drink margaritas and get loud with Baby Dottir. Hopefully soon.

Sounds like you're making the adjustment rather well.

Sounds good, Alan. You've always struck me as someone who loves being around people.

Hang in there, Alan. With any luck, you will be able to move back to the peace and quiet of deer camp soon.
(bummer about missing out on all the good stuff on Netflix, though.)

Whatchootalkinbout, Willis? Standard equipment for any RV'er is a WiFi hotspot card and a Roku or Apple TV device. Boss daughter just bought me the latest and greatest cell signal booster. I have four bars of ATT with an unlimited package paired with my Roku (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, & Disney). We divvy up the streaming services. I pay for Netflix & Disney, Baby Dottir pays for Hulu, and Number One dottir pays for Amazon Prime.

But when are you going to have time to watch it when you are partying down with a bunch of Canadians all night? Next thing you know, they'll get you roped into a Pickleball league.
(party on, dude!)
