Social distancing here means the dog is on the sofa and I’m in a chair.
Going to fill up the truck with gas in case we need to leave early. The local Costco made the news last night with ridiculous numbers of people waiting in line an hour before they were set to open.

Door shop is open for business - we'll see who shows up as schools are closed.
Better but lungs are still a mess. I managed a little half mile walk in the woods behind the house and did not die.

Good morning. I'm going for a short outing in the desert soon. It's safe to mingle with wildflowers and cacti. It's also a lot cheerier than reading the news and equally productive. Have a good day.

Good morning. Wish I could find something good about it though.
Weather's cloudy, cool and breezy so outside doesn't seem like fun. Nothing to do inside that seems like fun either. TV is depressing. I don't remember the world being this quiet since 9/12/2001. I did go to the bank and get some cash in case they close and the ATM runs out but there's no one on the roads. There's not much going on down here during the Summer but there's nothing going on now.
Guess I'll take a nap.
Stay well if you can.

Just home from a grocery store adventure in Vinton. I went at 8:30 am thinking no one would be there. Wrong, it was packed. Got what I needed and headed for home, only to remember that I had forgotten eggs. Turned around and went back. By this time there were no parking spaces at the store, but after circling the lot I got a spot. Went inside, got my eggs and got in the "9 or fewer items" line, I was 9th in line. Glad to be home.

Might be a good time to buy eggs from farmers!

A guy has been bugging me to come over and listen to his stereo system. He lives about 30 miles from me on a little lake.
I drove up there this morning. He sat me in a lazy boy with a view of the lake and “his music” turned out to be electronic space music at fairly high volume. “It runs about an hour” he said.
I cringed, but you know I laid back, closed my eyes, let my mind go in neutral, and the hour went by in a jiffy and I came out of my meditative state quite refreshed.

I didn't have my Etsy store back online a half hour this morning before I had $350 in sales.
I had just started into my third mile on this morning's run when I heard a sound -- something between a "mew" and squeak -- maybe something like if you could imagine a crow with a bad case of laryngitis. To be honest, if it had been the least bit windy I might have assumed it was just the sound you hear sometimes when two branches rub against each other in the wind.
Since it was directly overhead I didn't immediately look up to see what it was, but about 20 yards further on the trail makes a 90 degree bend that gave me a more comfortable angle to stop and look up and to my right.
At first I thought it might be a owl -- it seemed so much broader than a hawk. But then it turned its head and looked down at me. Yup, a hawk. Red Tail.
But just as I stopped and looked up I heard a sound in the tree directly in front of me as well. I panned across to that tree just as another hawk lifted off a branch while carrying a twig. It flew directly over my head and then behind me. I followed its flight to the top of the tree behind me now. That second hawk landed atop the peak of this tree where a notch was formed by 5 or 6 small branches radiating upward. In the cradle formed by those branches was the nest the second hawk was working on -- a bundle of well-woven twigs already as big as a basketball.

Life goes on!
Things still pretty normal up here. Except for closings of schools and cancellations of large events. So, not completely normal. But, the town feels the same. Went to the store for milk and bananas, same store, same shelves, no lines. North Dakota still at one case. For now.

Went shopping, the line to get into Costco was a 45 minute wait. What's wrong with people? Is there something going on with this virus that causes you to use lots of toilet paper? Or yeast?
Fear, uncertainty and doubt
Better days y'all

TP back to normal on the shelves here, didn't check wipes but probably okay, too.
First draft of taxes done (turbotax), will give it a break and recheck things. I owe $545 at this point.
Dinner plan is boneless thighs in the oven, some leftover soup, and rice. Will add salads if I'm feeling genki.
