Reminds me of the lame joke where Kenny's tour bus rolls into the ditch after the front wheel shears off. Kenny gets out, surveys the damage and says "You took a fine time to leave me, loose wheel."

Oh, sorry to hear. When he made it big in country I was surprised to realize he started with psychedelia. Just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.

My favorite is Ruby (Don't Take Your Love To Town) and it isn't even a close contest. But this was a nice one too.
This one reminds me of the summer when Linda Morgan was my girlfriend.

“Ruby, Dont Take Your Love to Town” and “Reuben James” - my two favorites of Kenny’s. I enjoyed the thought provoking lyrics.

There was a small-time musician around Warsaw back in the 70s. The college hired him as entertainment for a small party for freshmen back in '74. After playing a few songs seated on a stool, he stopped and made a great show of balancing himself on the stool as he worked his legs up and into that yoga position where the legs are made into a pretzel knot. Nobody could figure out what he was doing. He then launched into "Ruby...". When he reached the line: "It's hard to love a man whose legs are bent...." he looked down and stopped playing.

Still my favorite KR song. In case Todd has never heard this. Didn't know he was a bass player.

In case Todd has never heard this. Didn't know he was a bass player. Watching the video, his bass seemed more prop than instrument.

I listen to Sirius XM, Willie's Roadhouse station, and after all this time I have come to truly appreciate 'You picked a fine time to Leave Me, Lucille." It is a well told story, and the jerk trying to pick up Lucille gets nowhere. Perfect.

I liked KR. Saw him in concert once, and he put on a good show. My favorite song of his: Thanks for this post, Shannon -- I had totally forgotten about this song. You know, KR was always a little show-bizzy for my tastes, but listening to this track it's so clear that he was a very expressive and talented singer. Plus he was unafraid of playing nylons!
