I'm thinking about getting a looper to use with my Yamaha AEX and acoustic amp. Anyone have one? There are about 10 million different brands and I don't know from shinola.

Honestly unless you are going to do the 1 man band thing live the little Ditto looper by TC electronic is the one IMO. I primarily use it to lay down a rhythm to solo over but it's cheap, easy, and crystal clear. All it does is hold a single loop that you can keep layering over if you want. If you want one that holds multiple loops in a memory that you can call up for a set list etc there are other with more features.

My beef with all the loopers is you have to double click to start recording and all loops tend to play immediately after being recorded. I have not found one that works in the manner I would like it.

Anytime I've seen really talented live looping performers, they are using Boss loop stations.
I had the TC Voicelive that could also be used as a looper, I never felt confident enough to do it live. YMMV
