One of Trump's personal valets has tested positive for coronavirus
By Kaitlan Collins and Peter Morris, CNN Updated 10:51 AM ET, Thu May 7, 2020
(CNN) A member of the US Navy who serves as one of President Donald Trump's personal valets has tested positive for coronavirus, CNN has learned Thursday, raising concerns about the President's possible exposure to the virus.
The valets are members of an elite military unit dedicated to the White House and often work very close to the President and first family. Trump was upset when he was informed Wednesday that the valet had tested positive, a source told CNN, and he was subsequently tested again by the White House physician.
In a statement, the White House confirmed CNN's reporting that one of the President's valets had tested positive.

Those guys are so sure they are safe and run around without masks because of the quick Abbott Labs virus antibody test which is anything but foolproof.

Well, they are going to have to hose down the White House now, especially the President's residence. Aren't they?

So, is the guy actually sick to any discernible degree or did he just have the virus like so many potentially millions that wouldn't know it unless forced to get a test?

So, is the guy actually sick to any discernible degree or did he just have the virus like so many potentially millions that wouldn't know it unless forced to get a test? I can find no details on the physical state of this personal valet, only that he has tested positive. One can be a carrier and remain asymptomatic, so I would imagine they will have to quarantine this fellow and observe his condition. But if he were in the residence and coughing or sneezing, or breathing... it's anyone's guess as to the future.
Here you go:

Now another person close to Trump has tested positive, this time a member of the U.S. Navy who serves as a personal valet to Trump inside the White House and is responsible for serving Donald Trump his meals. (Side note: How weird is it there is an elite Navy unit dedicated to being the president’s butlers?)
The valet in question reportedly brings Trump his Diet Coke’s throughout the day. [<-- my note: greengrocer's apostrophe]
CNN reports Trump was “upset” at the news and things were “hitting the fan” inside the White House. Unlike some of the earlier exposures, this member of the U.S. Navy was said to be symptomatic when tested.
For full transparency. I suppose this would be the antithesis of Fox News:
Daily Kos is a group blog and internet forum focused on center-left politics, the Democratic Party and center-left liberal American politics. The site features a participatory political encyclopedia, glossaries, and other content. It is sometimes considered an example of "netroots" activism. -Wikipedia

So given those two sources, it's probably criminally overblown. OK, we'll see how it shakes out.

You know, Peter, the truth is always somewhere in the middle.

Of course it is. But around here there's only one side to be in the middle of.

That's how we finally came through the Middle Ages and reached the Age of Enlightenment. We had to finally convince both Galileo and the Church that the truth is always somewhere in the middle.
Ditto Flintstones vitamins. Kids love 'em and would eat the whole bottle at once. Mom knows better and doles out one a day. But the truth is in the middle. Everyone knows that. That's why good parents give their kids a half a bottle a day.
Compromise. It's the only way we ever get to the truth.

Compromise. It's the only way we ever get to the truth. I don’t think that word still means what you think it means. Compromise currently means we only take half your shit, not all of it.

I think every President deserves some privacy in his own world. Probably all of them say or do things behind closed doors that should never see the light of day.

In the line of presidential succession, guess who would be president if Trump were to be incapacitated, and that he turned out to have infected Pence on his way out?
Hint: She's from California.

Questions:
1. So does Trump go into self-quarantine now? Stop meeting with science advisors? Withdraw from debate over when and under what circumstances to re-open the country? Just leave all that up to the states?
2. How will we know?
